Last weekend or so, I hit 50,000 on the odometer. knanaNotably enough, as I arrived back in town and was getting Zane cereal from Walgreen's as he's starting baby-food.:)

She's been my road-warrior work-horse for me until I get my '05 Jeep Liberty back as a daily-driver.

Long story short, I bought the '02 L brand-new in Akron/Medina, OH in Feb. '03 and drove her down to DFW and TALON later that month - one of the last of the '02s. knana

I started running Royal-Purple 5w-20 after the initial oil break-in and at 3K intervals. I've got a good 50K oil sample and looking to send it off to Blackstone Labs.

Only real "mods" are the Air-Raid, PR Wild exhaust, Hotchkis coils/sways, JLP shackles, EBC rotors/pads front/rear.

Factory F1s picked up a side-wall slow-leak at ~18K in Plano and have been running Toyos since - currently plenty of tread left, too.:tu:

I had #1/#2 injectors replaced in '03 (I believe) and the S/C replaced due to a machining/milling defect with the blower/IC.:tex

BTW, my 75K ESP (~$1,800) worked out VERY well on the S/C and labor replacement ($3,500~).:eek2:

She drinks ~1qt. of RP 5w-20 every 1k miles (as the SVT Tech. Support. Op. confirms) and has since day one.

No chip/pulley/etc.... Now, when the warranty runs out and the "dust settles" at the homestead ... :)

She maintains 11 -15 City/Highway mileage on the 91-93 octane with light to heavy foot-work, too.

Bottom line, I'd buy this truck all over again...:tu:

Grats on the milestone. :) They really are pretty cool trucks.

My L obviously isn't a road warrior. I purchased it new just over four years ago on August 31st, 2002 at McRee Ford in Dickinson Texas. It's got about 17.8k on the odo.

After three oil changes at dealers, I got tired of the sloppy work and started doing it myself. It gets Mobil 1 now. What is Blackstone labs and why are you sending a sample off?

Your mods list was longer than I expected after first meeting you at Bone Daddy's. I never thought you would get anything other than exhaust. My mod list got bigger than I thought mine would as well. Exhaust, chip/pulley/filter, suspension, sway bars, hood and KB. Wheels and brakes are a possibility for '07.

Original F1s are still on the front of the truck. New ones on the rear in April or May 06. I might not have needed those, but I had a blowout on the way to the TFC.

I haven't had anything break on the truck (not surprising considering how little it's used) and have only had it in the shop for alignments and to get the recall work done. I opted out of the ESP.

I only did a MPG test one time and it was on the way to the Indy 500 and back. 15.5MPG which I thought was pretty dismal, but I don't care. It's not why any of us bought these trucks.

I don't know if I'd do it all over again. I've considered selling it many times, but something always changes my mind. For me, one of the most fun things about having the truck has been meeting people here.

This place is a real adventure.

Brook,

My understanding is that Blackstone Labs can give you a core-dump (IT - server term) of your engine and how she's doing internally. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/gas_engines.html I figure the engine is doing fine, but I just wanted to get some stats.

That darned persistent clunk (even with the clunk-washers installed) is driving me apey, though. She tracks down the level I-45 at speed with no problem whatsoever - just low-speed parking-lot, etc maneuvers.

Taking me for that ride in your tuned KBd L at my b-day party kinda' gave me that bug.
