Plans are to stop in Oklahoma City for 30 minutes and the first Kansas toll plaza for 30 minutes. We need volunteers to lead (Valentine 1 is a must). I plan to bring up the rear. Plans are for the main convoy to travel approximately 5 mph over. Faster guys are welcome to take off, but the plans are to stay in a pack as long as we can. At least to Kansas would be nice, but hey, we're all adults here. :D

I wont be making it this year.:( Things just havent paned out for me to go. Still alot i gotta do to the L before i make another long voyage. But the main thing is i know qa1 wont get my shocks rebuilt before its time to go and I dont need to blow a ton of money like i did last year. Rather get my truck where i want it and be all ready for next year... Pisses me off but gotta do whats right...:tex

If you gas up in Denton before you leave, you can make it to Kansas before you have to gas up again. Or you can gas up in Oklahoma City and make it almost the rest of the way from there. Stops are just to break up the trip and grab a snack and allow other Lightnings to find us on the highway before we get to Kansas City.

I'll lead again if y'all approve.
Three years both ways with no tickets, 7 to 10 mph over on average.

I will not do the 0-120 burn out of the Kansas toll booth this year, thought I was toast last year, as did most in the caravan.;)

You'll prolly be able to buy one after LightningFest. I've all ready approached Dwight and he'sgoing to hook me up. Plus, he and Nan live in McKinney now, so it'll be easier to get one as well!

We had 4 in our group on the way home and all arrived safely about 7:30pm.
Curt-peeled off at OKC to see his folks
John (Ohmsby), Tony (04SVTRACING), and myself blasted back through the traffic with no incidents.

Good times and what a ride on America's autoban- The KC Turnpike:cool:

I made it back in 8.5 hours. I didn't go over 79mph. Made one very fast restroom stop and one stop for gas in OK and that was it. Made it back at 5pm. My GF was like, "can you drive faster, I'm ready to be home".:rll:

Steveo, John and Curtis.....that was a fun ride back to Texas. I will have to admitt when I was the texas border....that was a sign of relief. I had a blast at my first L-fest. The drive up there and back was fun. At the track was even better just wish my truck would have broken that 13.06 mark and made a 12.9 pass. Oh well hopefully there will be another L-fest and I will get that done.

Thanks Wesman for letting me use those almost shot drag radials....they really did help.

What a weekend, is it over yet:o . I think I have one foot in the grave at this point. The convoy up was a little wet and mostly uneventful. I am glad I put the 4 new tires on the trailer before this trip. Running back to Kansas at 7pm on Sunday I did not worry about my old trailer tires. They were only 18 months old but they were the crap that comes from the dealer. They were D's(8ply/65psi) and I bought E's (10ply/80psi) this time around. Kind of like a Mastercard commercial, E load trailer tires $500 bucks, knowing you won't blow a tire going cross country at 2am Sunday night, priceless:cool: .
http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/medium/CIMG6719.JPG
Then after I got the trailer tires, bearings, brakes done I changed the oil about 10pm Wed night.. I may change it again soon since it worked so hard this weekend.:bows

Loading up Wed night I went ahead and threw Wes' street tires in the trailer 'just in case'. I knew I was the only trailer on this trip and we may have to unload it, and we did. We were in Guthrie, OK (30 miles north of OK city) when we got the call Ronnie was stranded. Wes gladly unloaded and swapped tune and tires for the street and drove home. I shortened the 130 mile trip back to Wichita down to about 1.5 hours:D . The lady at the KS Turnpike booth knew me by name the last time I pulled through, lol. I burned over 80 gallons of diesel on Sunday, another vote for the 46 gal TFI fuel tank:bows vs the stock 29 gal tank. I was blessed with no police conflicts or mechanical issues this trip. I was flying like a banshee from time to time. Thanks to all who made my trip easier with food, drink, money, shelter, help setting up and breaking down camp etc.
