I think the NHRA rule only applies to vehicles that didnt come with a supercharger, but thats why I asked for clarification

changing brands of superchargers is like changing brands of oil - not a big deal or shouldnt be from a rule making perspective

Did they check to see if you had a fire jacket?
Tech were pretty cool. They checked everything but did not ask about a fire jacket. However I am not running nitrous. Just the Whipple. The rules are not real clear.
I brought and wore my fire jacket anyway.

Yes, in fact I got called to the tower after running faster than 11.49, which apparently now requires a fire jacket.

So, if you're running an aftermarket blower on a Gen II it doesn't require a fire jacket unless you run faster than 11.50.

If you're running nitrous, no matter your times, it requires a jacket.

BTW-Congrats on your 10 second pass. I'm getting closer, got down to 11.1 @123 after you guys decided to leave ;)

Thats interesting Wes. NHRA rules say faster than 11.50 requires a roll bar, fire jacket and harness up and above what is required for slower than 11.5.

All I have so far is the fire jacket. Safety is very important so I plan on a bar and harness sometime real soon.
Tech never called me over :D I ran 6 times all well under 11.50. Maybe like you said it was because of your nitrous:confused:

Sorry we had to leave early. It's a super long drive back to Abq.

Congrats on your bottom 11. I am sure you will pick up a 10 before the year ends. As for me I was happy to bag mine now. No more low elevation runs for me until next year :(

PS there is a stack of cool race pics of your truck all over the place :nana2

I had the nitrous unhooked at tthe time as I couldn't find a re-fill. They said it was because I ran faster than 11.49.

Hopefully I'll find tha 10 later in the year, we shall see.
