Interesting but I like the looks of the whipple setup better. That funky triangular inlet is suspicious to me..:tex

I want to see one in person to check out that rear feed piece, it looks cramped and poorly designed. Jim Bell is a nut to do business with. Just like now he sells straight to the public at 2600 which is below the older dealer cost os 2750, list of 3250.
I have checked with Whipple and KB. For the last series KB only sold through JLP. When he released to other dealers he had a 5 order minimum and only gave 200 bucks a unit discount.
I tried to do a Whipple buy in before they came out. I got ONE sale and it is still in my shop on the shelf. To get a warehouse dist price from Whipple is 25 units I think which was about 75 thousand dollars up front. They required check/transfer no credit allowed on WD. Thier structure was
retail
3550
dealer
1-4 units3450
5-11 units 3350
WD 25 units+ 3150
We all see JDM and others selling racers kits for 31xx currently... I wish I had the pull to get these deals. LFP has offered it to me but I never have gotten enough units pre sold.

I would prefer you not get the 2.6, just yet, Wes. I am already worried about you taking the number two spot on the list :nono: .

If I had to deal with the same sh!t Terry and others trying to get accounts with suppliers have to deal with, I would never have been able to start my own A/C company. It amazes me to see how the suppliers of parts to performance shops, control the business.

For KB to sell those damned blowers to end users at the same price they would give a potential dealer is just crazy. WTF???? I have to assume that they feel no need for customer support or service after the sell.

So, what is your price on the 2.3 kb and the whipple for the local customer? Just curious....

Is that designed that way to account for the clearance to the firewall?

Does the whipple require the 'smack down' be put on the firewall?

L8 APEX

They are compramising flow for the firewall for sure. The Whipple fits completely under the firewall with no flow restriction like the 2.6KB. It also looks like they are using the stock IC plate to set it on which is dumb. Whippled replaces this plate and gains almost 2" of firewall clearance this way.
I can get the units within 50 bucks of the internet prices when they are pre paid by a committed customer. The old KB's I have been telling the customer to buy direct for warranty and ease of transaction issues. I can't beat 2600 bucks straight from Jim Bell...

Hey Terry- what is the status of the plug change issue with the Whipple. Do ya still have to remove the blower to change the plugs?
