Installing billet grills on the L?
Im plannin on doing it this weekend...just wanted some heads up or some pics if anyone has any?
Doubt I will be buying the 'precut' one. whats the best way or how to cut these up?

Took me about 3 hours. Be real carefull with the paint. That was my biggest problem.

Why don't you just do the cheap grill mod and be done with it.

I did do the cheap grill mod ;) (about 2/3 weeks ago)
I still want the billet one.
I sold the Lower one already...anyone interested in the upper one? lol :)
Got some STOCK shackles too

Auto Zone...O'rilleys? Wheel Molding Kit ((just ask them for it)) dont buy the BODY molding one...the look alike and i did that the 1st time but then realize it and took it back...
its just Too easy to put it on....cut it with scissors or sharp knife? then it glues right in

isnt the grille for a ford f150 the same as for the lightning? :confused:
I bought the lower grille at traders village cuz of the price hook up and then the upper one at summittracing.com (getting here tuesday)....

are the billet lower grille "lightning specific" or same as normal f-150....
I took my bumber out..and i mean the Size is good...but the stuff where some screws go from the stock one get on the way :mad:
help pls....

im only trying to do the lower one right now....the upper one gets here tomorrow or tuesday (bought them diff places)
bah this blows lol....i guess the lower grille is suppost to be made specific for the Lightning.... :flaming:

yea the L lower grill is Lightning specific... also your supposed to take out the lower grill when installing it...

the tabs shouldt be sticking out like that.. they should be flat against the grill and line up with the stock holes the stock grill uses. Most kits come with some washers and screws to use the stock holes

who ever made the billet grill you got from summit you need to get the lower one they make. Billet grills can be different from company to company. Some bars can be thicker, farther spaced apart closer, etc

Most use Stull Billet Grilles, I had a carriage works lower and it looked ugly and the tabs didnt hold the grille on, had to use zip ties to hold it in, just get the Stull upper and lower grilles

you answered your own question, cause its the "cheap" grill mod, I would never put something cheap and ugly on my truck, but to he his own :rolleyes:

i just ordered the lower one from summitt...(like i should of done in the ****ing 1st place)
now hopefully next weekend....that traders village lil store has one that can fit the lightnings and then i can trade it and sell it or hopefully get my money back! :throw:

Biggest Pain in the Butt :flaming: Got the lower one installed...waiting on the upper one to get here....however the installin of the lower one blows...just didnt make sence at all :hammer:

what brand did you go with??? My stull billet grille took all of 5 min to install without pics
