It means that I knew my truck hooked well at the start and I decided to let it run instead of letting off the gas at 1000 ft. :D

It was closest to dial-in (average of three qualifying runs). If you break out, you finish at the bottom. So even though a bunch of guys didn't run as close to their dial as I did, because I ran faster than my dial, all the folks that ran over their dial (no matter by how much) beat me. Mark finished 4th because he ran slower than his dial, but only by .047. That's pretty darn good and that is a function of good driving and having a consistant truck (since we were on street tires). :tu:

What made it hard for the newb (me) was the fact that we sat for an hour letting our trucks cool off while the motorcycle guys ran a bunch of runs, iirc. I had no idea of the impact on my times, hence the breakout.. but it was fun for me.. I didnt have many passes and need to work on my launching technique since my 60' times suck, my reaction times suck but my terminal speed is about where it should be for my mods.. nothing like repetition to fix that problem.

I've actually never seen "The Kressler" at the track, but I have met him a couple of times. Even shared a room with him, but he's an early riser because by the time I got up the next morning, he was gone and Mark was sleeping in his bed. :evil

"The Kressler" is rumored to have been spotted since ~1978, so this is a knock off originating in 2005. Someone must have brought him back from China.;)
But it appears he has some similar traits:beer:

What's great is that the three qualifying runs were all within .010 of each other then we got to sit around for like 45 minutes and then run the final run. That's one gripe I had with LFest, some things could have been run a little better.
