Is to build this.. 50s ford pickup, flat black, different rims instead of the bling and a L motor... If i ever find a decent shell and frame i will gut the L and build this. I have always wanted a early 50s ford truck... This just makes me want it even more...

Also the nissan truck i didnt get it... guy wanted to much for it

A worthy goal, indeed... better'n making fried rice, for sure...

That's got an L mill in it?? Got more pics, links?

What will you do to make it uniquely your own?? :tu:

I wanted to do the same thing with a 57 Ford. I like the side exhaust on this truck:cool:

Very cool, indeed. I like those old trucks, too. Most of them are complete rust-buckets, though. Like you said... the key is finding a decent shell. If the frame isn't good, there's not enough fab work that could be done to keep it from twisting with the HP/TQ of an L motor.

Vette motor??? What did you see on a smaller screen that even begins to make one think it is a vette motor?

It is running and has been running for a long while now as-shat, and fuk u tifton... Sorry i dont have gobs amount of money laying around like you all to dump into a KB or whipple... Im spending more attention to my suspension that has 123k + miles on it.. Getting new custom upper a arms fabed up so that the ball joint is at a proper angle with my drop and alignment will be alot easier to do. That and other things... Im happy with where my truck is and probly wont change performance wise.

But alteast i can say i have done everything on my own, including the built motor Unlike all here besides dennis....

Wes here....hijacking Jeff's sh!t....

lol..I don't let someone else do my work because I'm incapable. I do it because I have other sh!t to do. I've got someone that specializes in this, why waste my time doing it?

If you've got money to mess around with "projects" or messing with suspension, you should be able to make your sh!t right.

I've been pulling motors, rebuilding motors, replacing motors parts etc for 15+ years. This isn't my first rodeo, I'm just fortunate enough not to have to do it if I don't want to.

I was just messing with you, don't take it so personal man....take a drink, pass it around, drink again and have some fun.

I have found couple 50's fords on hwy 199 and been tempted to get one. Got a nice garage to work on it at just waiting for the mom and pops to build a new house and he said he would like to build one. It's either that or an Apache. :tu:

I have been wanting to do one for about 10-12 years or so.Actually I have one sitting on my family land in Alabama. it belonged to my uncle. He died in 1974 and it was parked and broke down before then. I even talked to a few local shops about restoring it( got the idea from some of the car shows & FFW events I attended over the years) the shops I talked to said they need to see it, which I under stand. said that it could be brought back even if it had a tree growing threw it. All depends on me & how deep my pockets go. I tried to give it away about 4 years ago to one of the guys at Racing Zone on Cooper but I don't think he took me serious. Its rusty but in all likely hood the right way to go would be a new frame and the original cab with all new fenders & doors. At least for me anyway. Anyone seriously interested ,contact me and i'll go with you to get it, at your expense tho :) I had a vision of the exact same layout as this truck but with a 6 speed tranny from the 2002 Cobra R that has the 5.4 NA in it. Same exhaust setup, single or 2-tone paint(undecided) and 20" front, 22's back. I didn't try to give it away here because its so L dominated I did think anyone even liked the old stuff. Chip Foose truck is also used in his ads in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords also 5.0 Mustang.

well Mike, i hadn't checked it out in 3 years or so, but its safe to say some areas are rusted & rotted away. But I believe the cab is saveable except the floors.

Mike,
Did you ever look in to a F-1 or F-100 truck? There are several on e-bay under Ford/other pickups. Some seem to be show car type but you gotta pay big $$$$ and others need "some work".

Mike, just uploaded some pics in the gallery of the F-1 and the '58 Chevy Biscayne on my family property in Alabama. both have sat more than 30 years and is probably too far gone except for a shop that does its own work or big $$$$ investor
