so is this typical when the spark plug blows out ,that it takes part of the head with it ,not just strips the threads?
this looks more like a defect , not loose plugs

Damn Wes, that sucks.
Sorry to see that. Makes me nervous about putting juice on mine even with new plugs.

Nice pics Wes:( When the plug gets loose the HOT exhaust gases blow by the threads, along with sucking in some fresh air leaning the mixture. This acts as a blow torch and melts away aluminum and plug thread surface.

That sucks man. :( Has anyone tried slapping a set of 4v cobra heads on? That might be interesting. :)

Nice explanation.

I have said this a few times before on the other boards, "Everyone needs to check their plugs every 3,000 miles."(if you are hardcore with your L)
You need to put a little torque on them when you tighten them. You might think you are going to strip out the threads, but the long a$$ extention takes away a lot of torque, so that needs to be compensated.

Mr Newton-meter says it again...use a torque wrench to install plugs in Al heads. :)

sorry 'bout your troubles...that sucks...too bad we can't just go out and buy beefier heads.....Ford appears to have a tad bit of trouble with quality.....
