A year has gone by since my dog passed on Nov 5th. I had hoped to have a place on my land and a new dog by now. That hasn't happened yet. At least I have friends/customers with dogs that I can annoy and care for. Thanks guys.
He was the best security provider I ever had. I remember when I first brought him up to the station to meet Brian. He was tolerant of Brian but when Eddie walked up to us in uniform, hehe. He laid quietly in waiting and when Eddie was within reach he sprung into action. Eddie decided he didn't want to pet the pretty dog after all :D. Brian said nothing wrong with that, the dog has good taste ;)

It took me about a year after both of my dogs passed to get over it.. they were my best friends.. no hassles from them and they were always there for me... if I think about it too much, I will :crying:

I remember your post about it. Seam's like it was just last week. I know how you feel. I lost a dog we had for almost 12 years or so. He had lost vision and fell in the pool one night after we had just opened it up for season. If it was full of water he may have had a chance to have gotten out. Took me a while to get over it.

Terry,

I understand you're waiting to get a bigger place for a new dog, but I don't see how you have done it. I was looking for a new dog just several days after my first one (in my adult life, at least) passed. I found a lady (lives up by Tex...she's the president of the National Shetland Sheepdog Assoc., so she breeds real quality dogs) who had a litter the day my first dog died. So I paid her a deposit and picked up my beautiful puppy just 8 weeks later. Knowing I'd get a new friend was about the only thing that kept me from puking every other day.

Some people get real attached to their animals, and I'm one of them. Now my "puppy" is 2+ years old and she's a great friend (sitting at my feet as I type this even). I certainly miss my first dog, but there's no better healing ability than getting another one you can care for.
