Well on my way home from work I was headed to 1382 to take a shortcut from Grand Prairie and at the last minute hit Camp Wisdom and decided to take 360 to 287. So I'm rollin down 287 and I see this

Anyone care to guess who this is and what they are doing? (Hint: that is a Talon sticker on the left window)

Yes it was Tifton with a blowout. He was on his way to Huntsville and didn't have a jack or a spare. I went home and got my gear and we slapped my spare on his truck and away he went. Damn good thing he had that Talon sticker on the back of his truck or I might not have noticed him.

JACKASSES won't even move over and let a brother change his tire. These fools were rushing past us at less than comfortable distances. I also layed down in a fireant bed while getting my tire out from under my truck and had to take off my shirt that was covered in ants.

What tires were (are) you runnin??

I had that same problem when I first bought my L. My POS F1s left me on the side of the road + not having the spare tire key lock. Sidewall blewout going around 80 after an hr of driving. I have pics somewhere.

Nice job Adam. Hint to those that are ever changing a tire. NEVER sit with your legs under the truck. A few years back I was doing this out at Ennis. I dropped a lug nut and it rolled just out of my reach. I moved my legs to get to the lug nut. Just at that moment the jack(one just like Tifton is using)slipped out from under the frame. My truck crash straight down on the pavement. Had my legs been under it, I would have been seriously hurt and possibly had my legs squashed.

U'r right Rocks, when I was little a friend of my uncle lost his legs with them under a car like that in Alabama. my uncle seen me doing it when I was a young pup comin' up and learning and he chewed my a$$ for a while for doing that,I never did it since. As for having a flat, I learned last year when I had a flat on the way home to double check to make sure all things work. I had a 4-way lug wrench but with custom wheels the wall of the lug wrench was to thick to fit in order to break lugs loose so I had to ride on a flat tire for over 8 miles and then pay a tire place $55 to change it plus buy a new $208 G'year HP 295/40/20 tire. I went to Sears got a thin wall socket & breaker bar just for my truck along with a floor jack .

Word. :ron: When I was changing my slicks out for the streets at the autocross earlier this year, my jack fell sidways and dropped the truck--thankfully, I had the tires already on, so the only damage I had was the flange on the frame that bent that caused the jack to slide sidways to begin with. :( /:ron:

Since those Talon stickers seem to come in handy, how do new memebers go about getting one?
