DAY-UM, did they stink it up tonite or what?? Sean Payton schools the living crap out of Tunahead, Romo got his wings clipped, the entire team looked and acted like they were flat mailing it in. Drew Brees lit us up like a match to some gasoline, Reggie Bush ran like he had carte blanche, and the freakin' reject kicker actually executed the best onside kick I've ever seen.

Props to the Saints for actually proving who's the best in the NFC; razzberries to Tunahead and his evacuation crew, for just flat stinkin' it up.

I think the team is a reflection of their leader; and Tunahead sure didn't do much to encourage them to play any better. It seems to me, that when they're doing well, he's animated and involved; but when the team starts to fall off, he turns into Bledsoe on Vallium, and completely detaches from the team altogether, which to me just encourages the slides. :nono: Peyton, on the other hand, was (and is) always involved, and doesn't let his team fall off when they start to stumble.

I guess the proof of the pudding will be the playoffs: will da Boys make it??

If the Cowboys don't make the playoffs, Parcells will not return (one way or another). With the schedule they have left, they should win at least 2 if not all 3 games. Anything less would be unacceptable.

Give credit to the Saints. They played great, and the coaching was super. The onside kick was an awesome call. Reminded me of Jimmy Johnson.

It was a playoff-type game that the Cowboys didn't show up for, but as much as that, they just got outplayed.

Anything can happen in the NFL nowdays. Parity rules. I find it very boring myself. Bring back the dynasties in the era of no salary cap.

This post is right on the mark.. There are times where one team is on and another just isnt.. it happens even moreso now. Look at the Jax/Indy score, the MIA/NE score, etc.. parity sucks.. the onside kick reminds me of when the Beagles, er Eagles did it a few years ago, b4 Parcells. Sean wanted to school the mentor, well it happened this time, I wouldnt count on it again.

Wes, your'e right: the Saints are a respectable team, and they flat schooled the old man.

And I think you may be right: Parcells will be gone if they don't make the playoffs.

Thing is, I think as much of it is Tuna's fault, because he just doesn't seem to *be* there when they do poorly, and the entire team takes on his attitude--kinda like Dreadsoe when he got benched. NOT the way to run a team, IMO. And if that's the case, I think it's time for the old man to retire and enjoy his new trophy wife, and let someone who cares run things. :hammer:

Dana: I have NEVER seen an onside kick done that way before. Every one I've ever seen, they overload one side, and they try to kick a blooper; this time, it was an almost-controlled squib right down the middle. NOt only did that take the boys off guard, but it made it much easier for the saints to recover it--hell, I honestly think that the KICKER was the player who was supposed to get it. I think you're right, tho, that the mentor won't get caught like that again--but if they do meet again (playoffs, anyone?), will Parcells have the wherewithal to pump up his team to meet them again? Or will he just stand there like a plastic toy and look like he's thinking of his dinner?

Tex, well not really sure who he will be on the sideline, but I do think he will have a few things up his sleeve..

Whether they win or lose they are a hell of a team, and they will get closer to the Super Bowl than that team that the Saints wiped their ass with Sunday night!

Even if he does special teams and defense will hold him up. We can judge Grossman's performance the next few weeks and see, but it looks like he's rebounding. If he rebounds well then the team will be complete and tough to beat, and even if he is not so hot the running game will be strong and the defense and special teams will hold up. I'm not saying anything yet, but it is at least one fork of the road to the Super Bowl has to go through Chicago...

I've got my 2006 NFC North Division Chaps hat all ready...can't wait to get mt NFC Conference Champ hat!

Tom,

I agree with you. If Grossman just plays adequately, the Bears will be very, very tough. The Saints offense will not play as well as they did against the Cowboys (especially in snow). I've said all along that if Grossman just doesn't turn the ball over all the time, the Bears are the best team in the NFC. He wasn't spectacular vs. the Rams, but he did enough to win the game... with the help he will always get with the defense and special teams (who may not continue to score TDs on returns, but they will still give the offense a short field consistently).

Rebound like a catfish that just got noodled. And that fork is going RIGHT thru that right hand of his. :d

It's gonna be interesting, to say the least. I think the boys will handle up on the quarterbackless Falcons on sat nite, on the NFL network (thankfully, I get it).

I get it too, but I hate the broadcasting.. honestly, this is the best they can do? but its on par with CBS, because they suck too..

I'd rather get it in hi def as well, makes watching the game so much better.

Makes the case for turning down the volume and turning up the radio broadcast... and, since they're broadcasting on The Ticket these days, you can get it via the internet! :d
