I don't know if you have ever used a bow before, so I thought I would throw something out for you. Even though they claim it's tuned and ready to go, there will still be adjustments you have to make for your arrow length and shooting technique. Be sure and get it in time to have plenty of back yard practice.

I bow hunted for about five years. Never got one, but I had fun missing a few deer...:rll:. My main reason for bow hunting was getting out a month before the rifle season.

I just picked mine up about 4 weeks ago.. so I am not hunting this year. I did run into some guys and we are talking about bowfishing in the Spring.. then getting ready for next year. The wife has a bow on order as well. Good luck,
Dana

Beau,

Definitely, bow-hunting will make you a better deer-hunter as it requires you to get in "closer" for the take-down - it makes you go in with no scent, sound, etc. You only breathe from your nose and don't turn your head when you hear a noise - just roll your eyes and slowly turn your head - even from ~20 ft up.

Yes, every bow should truly be tailor-made to the hunter. Draw-length of the bow, arrow-length, broad-head weight, speed, everything, etc. Definitely, keep the arrow-speed as fast as possible and "quiet" the release as much as possible as whitetail can "duck" arrows.

I've been stand-hunting whitetail via bow in the past and it was a very different experience without all the rifle/muzzleloader hunting pressure on the herds.
I'm looking to get into a PSE split-limb twin-cam rig sometime soon.knana
