unknown wire found. need help

I was doing some cleaning under the hood last night and noticed this hanging down on the driver side of the engine bay. I have no clue where it goes to. The wire is really long. It looks like it goes somewhere up underneath but i dunno. anyone have any idea?

nevermind. i was just informed that it is the hoodlight connector.

Well the previous owner had this cervnini's hood installed so I wasn't sure if there was originally a light or not. but now i know.
