I've been watching it also. It's amazing no matter what the car is, there's a market for it. I didn't know Barret Jackson made 18% on each sale. What a deal...

Yeah a 62 Country Squire wagon just went for $57K, I'll call dad and tell him he should have saved the 67 and the 73.:D
I'll roll the numbers matching 88 K5 up there in a few years, got the build sheet and the window sticker in the glove box.;)

I missed this year do to being swamped. My customers flew out there for the week. It is a lot better than what we're doing here..

I always wondered can the average Joe attend? I've always wanted to go and just check it out.

Dang we had one of those family 'trucksters' with the woodgrain siding. It had a big arse motor in it- I think like a 390 or 460.
:ron: It was blast on the paper route I had as a kid especially when Dad gave up the driving duties to my big brother:burnout:

Yes the average guy can buy admission and look around. It is just an expensive place to hang around. I think my guest pass was $150 bucks. Nothing in Scottsdale is cheap, food, hotel etc..

That's what I remember them saying on the show, but I can't see it on Doug's link.

Prices have been very reasonable tonight, $50K bought a lot of the muscle cars.
It would cost more to do most of these cars on your own nickel.
Not sure what the attraction is on the station wagons though?

Prices are a little different today, $200K is routine, $500K on Cudas and Boss 429s.

Man,
I been off this board for a few days wish I had known this was being discussed. I watched it everyday also flipping back & forth. Lot of  WOW cars & prices $$$ I can't afford but yeah, someone mentioned how much restoring & building a nice vehicle cost and its true. Just looking at some of the lower cost cars I know it cost more to build it. Then there is always the "original" vs "resto modded" debate. I like both, it just depends on what you're starting with. If you got all matching numbers and it can be returned to all original then OK, but if you got a "junker rust bucket" that will never be original again then cool go ahead and build a nice resto modded ride with old body style but updated drive train, wheels ,paint & interior. That's just me tho, I guess that's why I go to all types car shows. My favorite was the '56 Buick resto mod & all the Shelby's,Mach1's & Bosses(Hey I'm Mustang thur & thur :tu: )
Last year there was a tiny bit of talk about attending one as a TALON event, what happened with that? Maybe we should start out like I heard them(Mike Joy I think) say " a lot of car clubs have watching parties" I don't think we are that serious anymore. speaking of $$$$, that signed poster for Darrell Gywnn's foundation brought more $$$ than some of the medium priced cars.
That CNN Hummer "Warrior One" was on Overhaulin' about a month and a half or so ago.
