I have a local guy in Ft Worth that has a head for sale from a '99 GT. I don't know what exactly I need to swap out or rather tell a machine shop to swap out. Anyone know for sure?
The L's been down for 2 weeks and I need to get it up and running again...I miss it :(
Also who/where would be able to pull the heads and replace etc ? Price guesstimates?
Terry, Do you do such things? :bows:
I guess it'll be a little easier to slap those LT's on now...I knew there was a positive side to this :hammer:

Wesman, The heads and cams should be the same. I would recommend timeserts for you spark plug holes while the head is off. Your head shop should know what they are. They are basically steel threads that swage into your head and offer about twice the amount of threads as a stock head.

The GT heads are the same as the truck from what I am told (both are PI heads).
Also, I read that Fox-Lake can work on the PI GT heads (99-02), gaining another 70hp @ the wheels. Might be worth taking a look at on the L. :d

Cool, so I don't need to switch cams, valves etc?
Who/what is Fox Lake ? Any ideas on cost?
I'm just ready to get it going again...plus bad weather is coming and the 350 needs to go back in the garage :)

Cool..thanks for the info....are the timeserts the same as the heli-coils ? They sound very similar.

They are the same idea as helicoils. With my timecerts, I use the NGK TR6 plug and it comes out into the cylinder perfectly. If you want to get real crazy, you can index about two or three sets of plugs and mark them for their cylinders while the heads are off.
