I'd recommend sealing your battery connections with spray sealer. Most batteries are vented and they vent sulfuric gases onto the terminals. They corrode at the terminal and it goes up the raw wire at the terminal crimp. Mine were starting to turn green and corrode in less than a year. So I brushed them up and sealed them. So seal your connections before they corrode all the way back into the cable.

Your cables are a whole nuther story. Cutting the ends off and usgin those chinsy connectors sucks balls. One of the grounds fell out while I was re-connecting the battery. Not god in general.
