Do I need a re-tune to install my bassani catted mid-pipe (will it throw any codes)? I still have stock manifolds, but I do have a FlowMaster catback. Thanks guys.

Off topic, but how does the flowmaster sound on your truck? Do you like it?

Off topic, but how does the flowmaster sound on your truck? Do you like it? Very deep rumble at idle and at low rpm. Quiet on the hwy until you step on it. I was going to get Terry to custom build me a mid-pipe and install his magnaflow wild catback, but looks like that fell through.

Best sounding exhaust,H.P./torque gains for the L. in my book. http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/magnaflow-catback-exhaust-199904-ford-svt-lightning-p-196.html sounds like this when you nail it http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Ford/2/0a5da042-7efa-4311-b050-9881000dedfd.htm

Here's a dyno sheet http://www.jegs.com/photos/64215714_dyno.jpg The only down side is the tips dont line up well.I cut em off and installed 12 inchX4inch Chrome plated stainless and cut the tips to 31 degrees and they fit nicely.IBassini is nice to but whatever you install make sure it has an X-pipe.I have tried it both ways.As far as retune,i was told none needed for stock system with this catback.

This has been an long argument on this site several times. The way i understand it it helps the exhaust flow better with some back pressure. All i can say is i tried the Wild system which didnt have the X-pipe,but sure Terry would install one for you,and the 15714.The difference was VERY noticable.I was stock back when i did it.I have kooks L.T.'smag high flow cats and the 15714 with 4 inch tips. now and get more comments on how well my truck sounds. If you look inside the the 15714 its basically wide open with a huge X.Dodge guys like them flowmasters.:rll: They do sound good though.Good luck with it.Terry and Jimmy are the exhaust GURUS.:bows

Magnaflow sounds like absolute $hit, my flowmaster exhaust sounded 100% better, Kooks long tube headers, gutted high flow cats, and 2 40 series mufflers

the JLP 3" full exhaust is by far the best exhaust out there for HP/TRQ/Sound and you can tell a big difference with the butt dyno, I love the way my truck sounds with this exhaust:

By losing back pressure, how much TQ do I stand to loose? Thanks for the replies guys.

not enough to matter, ive ran my truck when i first got it at the track with cats then removed all of them and ran the exact same time as before, so if you do loose any down low you pick up back up on the big end

Took my truck to a buddies muffler shop yesterday and we installed my Bassani midpipe and what a difference it made..! It sounds like a different truck :d . I didn't expect for it to sound so aggressive with stock manifolds still on, but I am very happy with it :tu:. I should have done this a long time ago (Kooks Longtubes Are Next). I did notice I have lost some boost due to more air flow. But the KB is sitting and waiting :D .
