P0125 code help

"Insufficient Coolant Temp for Closed Loop Fuel Control"

This is not for my truck, but rather a friend who has an '02 with 70k miles on it.

I assume one potential issue could be a stuck t-stat?

yes stuck t-stat. replaced the t-stat and clear the code

If he is running a 160 stat it needs to be programmed for it. Ford raised the warm up coolant temp from 140 to 170 in 2002. So when I tune a truck with a fan kit or 160 stat I lower it back to 140. It will only trigger the code when the truck doesn't break the temp within 5 mintues which is usually only a winter issue.

This is Todd's son's truck. I am sure the t-stat is the OEM one. I checked and deleted the code around lunch today. Obviously, if the t-stat is stuck, then it will come back on. So far, so good, but there isn't enough drive time on it yet. We'll see.

I can't imagine a stat sticking open. We'll see if it comes back on.
