Talked to the track owner today. Winter hours go in to effect for the December 7th schedule. Hours will be 11AM-7PM. Here's the scoop.
He will run a Lightning-Only bracket class for us on December 7th. Cost is $15 for racers, $10 for spectators. My proposal is this:
$10 trophy fee (total cost will be $25 to race in the program).
Trophies for 1st-4th place.
Trophy for best reaction time (during competition only).
Trophy for best ET (during competition only).
Gates open at 11AM for test-n-tune. Each driver is responsible for his own dial in. Dial-ins may be changed from round to round. First round buy-backs available for $10.
If this sounds good to everyone, we need to get the word out so we can draw from a large regional area. I will front the money on the trophies and take care of that.
Also, rumor has it that Hallsville will run a car club series the third week of every month in 2003 with some pretty serious money available to the winning clubs at the end of the year. http://www.fordvschevy.com/forum/images/smilies/hyper.gif

I could swing this. I only have a real shot at the RT trophy, but hey, sounds fun :)

Sounds good to me. May have my truck back by then if Ruslow leaves as plans. If not, then I will watch.

The idea is low ET gets the trophy. Hopefully, there is going to be some pretty quick trucks from Houston. As far as grudge matches go, anything goes in test n tune including grudge matches, but if the promoter is up for it, maybe we can have a "feature" race of the evening. Like maybe Top Gun for each club. I'm open for suggestions if you have any ideas.. :D

I'm in. Been planning on this all year. :tu:
Crawford and I have a grudge match planned, just for braggin' rights, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to trash talk, since there's only .001 difference between our best runs.

Have you even touched your truck since then?
I know Sam has.
But hey, I still got to give it to ya.....having only a R9 program and filter kit running low 12.8's on Toyo radials is just awesome.:d

Sure, it's been modded some more. Got a new head on the driver's side, courtesy of FoMoCo. :D
Crawford had the Hotchkiss, and I was counting on that for a tenth, but now he got rid of that. I guess he was gettin' nervous about our little match up. ;)

Terry's gonna' be mad at you for stealing his standard slam. I usually give him a comeback about his sexual frustration showing, but I'll have to come up with a new one now. Hmmm, maybe something along the lines of giant cat hairballs, or double diapers.

December 7th is our Annual Christmas Charity show for the Cougar club. They'd frown on me not being there, it's a great cause...
Any day other than the 7th and I'd be there since the mother-in-law is back in town until March...WooohooO!

Dennis, how much time are we looking at between the gates opening and the first round? I just put on the Nitto NT555s and just got my chip back and want to get familiar with the set up, but the only chance I'll have to play with it will be that morning. I just got the Nittos on last night and tried a quick launch off of a stop sign this morning and spun the tires all the way through the intersection. I know the street is definitely not the best place to find traction, but with the new tires I need to relearn my launch.

Andre:
My single goal in life for the 7th of December is to try to beat your 11.4 time...LOL
I don't know how likely it will be running a 50 shot...but damn if I am not going to shoot for it.
I am going to spend most of the day trying to run a 12 flat pass on motor only...then when the day starts to draw to a close I will open the bottle and use it from the launch on down.
Why couldn't your Et be an 11.8 or something higher...your gonna make me work for this one:d

You go andy, but don't waste a Lightning on me. There are a bunch out there faster than me. BTW ran a 7.46 1/8 mile at our last CCB without the juice. Equates to about a 11.6 1/4 mile without nitrous. I just may need to make another nitrous run while this cold weather is here to see if I can beat that 11.41 with a 90 shot or nitrous.

What combo of pullies are you running to pull that...That is sweet.
Are you running NGK BR7's?
My 3:55's are going to certainly limit me.
Do you think a 75 shot is really safe on my L with 36K on the clock?
It has Denso IT-24's so the plugs should be fine...just wonder if a 4# lower and a 75 hit will be too much.
I guess if it is, I will have a really good excuse to get a "Built" motor...would be hard for the wife to argue against that one..LOL
My 60's are still sucking 1.83 is the best so far but hopefully with the new slicks and traction bars I can improve that signifacantly.
Are you running a window switch with your NX or just a full throttle switch?
Also, what do the line locks run and how hard are they to install?
What I was impressed with most on my last trip to Ennis was my race weight...with me in it and everything I could think of stripped off it was 4380.

I don't know about Ennis scales lately. They said the car with me in it was 3000 lbs:bs

Will there be a caravan to the sticks or will everyboby find their own way down? I would be in on rolling with a line of trucks.

I'd prefer to caravan. I've never been out that far and I'm skeered!:crying:

I vote caravan as well, maybe we all meet at IHOP on 75 and Springvalley and have breakfast and off to the races...:nana2

Not that we can't change, but the usual pre-Hallsville meeting spot is the Sonic in Balch Springs.
Crawford
11-25-2002, 02:21 PM
Well we can meet at IHOP then swing by Sonic since its on the way right?
tliss
11-25-2002, 02:56 PM
IHOP then a trip to Sonic will work for me. What time does the IHOP gang want to get together? I want to get out there in time to take a few test runs. Just got the chip back and just put on the Nittos, so I have to learn all over again.
I'm hoping for 12s:nana2 regardless of whether I go anywhere in the bracket!

I dont know what time gates open. Also depends I guess on when everyone is meeting at Sonic. Lets find out these two things then we can get a schedule on when to meet @ IHOP.
andy_cain
11-25-2002, 03:30 PM
Lets make sure that everyone meeting at IHOP on 75 understands that the meeting time = leaving time.
I personally am planning on having a light breakfast (no big pancakes...race weight concerns) before leaving(=meeting).
So, if you plan on having breakfast...might want to make it to IHOP about 30 minutes earlier.
Just don't want anyone missing breakfast over misunderstanding times.
:nono:

The gates open at 11 per Sixpipes' first post. If that's the case, we might want to leave IHOP at or before 8.

I need to know how fast you guys plan to drive. That way I'll know how early I need to leave so I won't get left too far behind.;)
Last time Doug & Tim kept it under 70 MOST of the way. I know how hard that must of been.
Will there be any others trailing there trucks? If so let me know so we can leave early togeather. But when we get to Hallsville I would like for us all to roll in togeather.;)

I am planning on trailering mine is well as I have to be in NJ the following Monday and do not want to be hitching a ride with a tow truck if she can't hold together with her new steroids.

I will probably have an SVT Focus tagging along so not more than 5mph over the speed limit would be about right. I also placed the trophy order today ($170 worth). So we need 17 trucks or more to make this work. I will post pictures when I pick them up.

Does that ET tropy count for breakouts?
Am I reading it as Best ET or is it ET closest to dial?
Sixpipes
11-28-2002, 09:09 PM
Race director says closest RT to .500 without a red light and Lowest ET period.
First category is all driver, the second catagory is all truck. First through fourth place trophies are a combination of truck and driver.
