What causes orange plugs?
Pulled the plugs yesterday after the detonation issues, thought I might have rattled some loose.
They were all tight and looked good except they were orange. Any ideas?
Octane boost or 104 race gas?

I am going to go with the race fuel on that one.

Mark,
My reference book indicates "combustion chamber temps have risen suddenly during hard acceleration" :tu:
Recommendation: "consider colder plugs if driving conditions warrant"

I would bet it was the octane boost + race gas combo... My plugs used to turn purple ..

Competition Orange I like that one:tu: The octane boost additive MMT makes them redish from my experiences.

Doug, haha very funny.
