Hello,
I am trying to help out a german Lightning owner who got 3 Brisk spark plugs destroyed his rods.
The truck has around 19000mls. and is a 2004.
The parts and work to fix the engine are very expensive over here. So we trying to get a pricing for a replacement engine/motor.
It will be more expensive but at the moment we calculating 4000 US$ just to get it fixed in germany.
I can´t find the stock Lightning one on the Ford Racing website.
Where could we try to get the right answers?
The truck was modded with Stiegemeir Blower, 4# lower, RWTD tune and all the other bolt ons.
He wants to go back to stock now with a new engine.
We could handle shipping from germany with a pick up adress.
Thank you for help,
André

A whole motor shipped to you would likley be close to that - but I havent priced stock longblocks in a while
there used to be a place that sold lightning crate engines at a decent price
kar kraft or car kraft or something - someone in TALON knows the URL - I couldnt find it when I tried

Hello Doug,
it´s KarKraft.com I was watching the website but i just found the stock short block on it.
He wants to get the complete closed engine up to the Throttle body.
I will call this company and ask for it.
Thank you Doug!

I'd have to check but I think I can get a AER (Ford Reman'd) for 2,500 abouts. That is just a long block you would need heads, oil pump, oil pan and all accys, gasket set etc.. as usual. I assume someone over there can bolt on heads, time cams etc. Stock used heads would be about 200 bucks a set.

Thank you Terry,
but we are trying to get a complete (closed) engine at the moment.
The shops - you can trust in - that are able to build up the engine are really expensive in germany.
Just as an example, as my tranny was broken they asked around 4000 US$ to rebuild it. I got a brand new one from the USA shipped to germany and saved some money.

Hello Terry,
i really have to say i didn´t knew the difference between short- and longblock.
No i know it´s the same size the longblock just have the rods mounted.
The guy who needs the motor would like to go stock or build now.
So would you take a look for me for the longblock with all parts (gaskets, heads aso. ) what needed?
Would be nice.
Shipping could be handeled from here. We would just need the size and weight of the box.
Thank you for the help,
André

I think the AER/Ford Reman is a long block for 2500. It is complete with heads installed. I think you have to install oil pump, pan, cams and timing chains...
