Electric fan w/shroud

I have an electric fan in a shroud but no wiring harness or block sensor. $100 bucks. You can get a fan control from Summit Racing or get a new harness from LFP for about $120-150. That equates to a $250 Efan kit!

can you not just wire it to run on high and get away from having to have a temp control on it?

Yeah, you could just tie it to a key on relay and have about 50 bucks in wiring.
