If my house sells too soon I may need a rent house. Prefer Midlothian, Waxahachie, or Grand Prairie. Most of the rent houses I am finding on the internet require 12 month leases. I would probably only need about 6-8 months.

That is gonna be a hard battle bro. You're right homeowners don't like short terms and they really don't like dogs. You'll be in a tight if your house sells quickly. There are some unique rent houses out there:tex

Some apartment complexes will do short term leases just to fill a vacancy. You could rent a small storage unit for the majority of your stuff. Just put the basics in the apartment.

I may have to do this but an apt would be my last resort. I would like to have a yard for the dogs.

Some APTS have first floor yards. Chris' in Cerad Hill did anyway but it was 1200 a mo.

No problem ...

$1800 a month and you can rent part of the back yard, a bedroom and a bathroom ... You get free FIOS internet ... and .. well thats about it ...
No lease but Ill need first and last and a 3rd months rent as security deposit. Not bad a $5400 move in..

about 15 years ago, I rented a condo in Dallas by Presbyterian that had 2 car garage and small back yard ...
