I have the midpipe, and i've heard its the most restrictive part of the exhaust. I've also heard its the part that determines how loud it is. So, has anyone ever put the midpipe on a stock catback? I'm curious because I love the way my buddies truck sounds with everything on a magnaflow catback, but its REALLY loud. I dont know if i'd like that on my 80mile round trip to and from work.

So, options:
a. put midpipe on with stock catback, change tips.
b. trade midpipe for a catback.

What do ya'll think?

put the mid pipes and see how its sounds, if you dont like you will then have an excuse to just buy the rest of the exhaust system:evil

Think Mike (BC Lightning) has one wonder how it sounds they are supposed to give a 60hp gain.

Bassani is the highest priced dog poop on the market. I have replaced about a dozen cracked, broken systems.

Currently, I've got Bassani mids (off road) and a Bassani catback on my 'L' - pretty loud and a drone when cruising, but I don't mind it. I'm switching to long tubes with catted mids before too long, so maybe it'll quiet down a little bit, but if it doesn't, that's OK too.

The Bassani system has been on my 'L' for over 4 years now with no problems whatsoever.

Just playing devils advocate here, because i've heard the exact same thing, but out of a dozen... i wonder how many are still good and on the road? :d

problem is most of the people that say they havent had any problems arent actually checking everything to see if there starting to crack and or just dont drive there L's enough to have the problems. It's not an if it will happen but a when, I drive mine as hard as anyone so mine was prone to doing it sooner than most(mine lasted one month), becasue I like to drive mine up to 140mph on a whim, and it causes extreme heat and the bassanii's cant hold up to it. Most of the people that dont have any problems with them dont ever drive or drive like grandpa when they do drive them.

I replaced my worn out MAC with the BX Bassani catback from LFP last Christmas. I already had the Bassani midpipes (with cats). During normal driving and while cruising, it's not as loud as the MAC was. However, hard throttle action will set off car alarms on BOTH sides of the street. :D

Obviously it's not old enough to warrant any longevity comments, but I feel confident I'll get at least four or five years out of it. I got more than four years out of my MAC and it gets plenty of bad press too.

put my JLP 3" Bassani system on in November, Had to go to the muffler shop across from the safe house to weld the muffler back together where it split down the middle

yup its still on the truck, even though I haven't driven the truck in awhile because of a blown tranny, I've been meaning to call JLP to get a new muffler, I have been shopping around to see whatever 3" inlet and outlet mufflers there are and wont crack after a few months
