I put one of the last roush spring and shock kits on my 2004 to lower it

But the Roush rear springs are too soft, the truck sits too low and it bottoms out on the crappy N texas roads

So Terry installed a set of airbags and now they are starting to cause me grief . This weekend I found out that one of the bolts broke and the bag was just resting on the spring- I replaced the bolt myself but the bag or the tubing is now leaking - Since Im selling the boat I dont need the trailer advantage that the bags offered - Im looking for a simpler approach

As far As I know these are my options


fix the airbags
remove the airbags and live with the too low rear and the bottoming out
put the stock rears back and get some shackles
Have the stock rears rearched lower
Some other optionYou guys have any other ideas ?

Find some 03-04 springs and have Champion de-arch them 2 inches. Then you can use a shackle to get the exact height you want and the ride will be perfect. Autothrottle had a set I gave him they may be in the trash by now. One of the bags probably failed due to the lowered install height that is easy enough to test with soapy water in a spray bottle.

Then I would pull the bag hardware off and schedule with Champion to dearch and install the stockers. I don't know if they can arch while you wait or not. I think they have before. That is my favorite setup. I say 2" to be conservative since it is at the spring techs disgresion as to what is 2". They did Cathy's 2.5" and it was perfect but almost too much. I would start at 2" and run the one inch hole on a Beltech shackle.

FW quoted me $110 and half a day just to de-arch carry in springs

Rays quoted me $175 and a full day to do the same

I burned $15 in gas getting there today to drop off
Was hoping to avoid the same trek for pickup ...
