I tried to tell you what a sorry bastard he was:D. Personal plates stay with the assigned owner. I still have mine, you should have taken them off!

Gary, Whenever you sell a car in TX, be sure to download DOT form VTR-346 to notify the state you sold the car. This relieves you of liability for tolls, red light cameras, accidents, etc. If you can prove the date you sold it, you can get them to waive the existing tolls/fines. Hope this helps. Mike

You can download the form here.

Theres a form you can fill out to change the registration to the buyers name even if he doesnt register it.Cost 5 bucks you fill it out and mail it in.Ill see if i can find it. Her it is,did one on my honda. http://www.co.bexar.tx.us/links/TaxOffice/Tax-About/Motor_Vehicles/vtr-346.pdf It will keep you from gettin his parking tickets, and toll bills.I guess it will still remain in your name even with this form but make a copy and keep for your records.Best thing to do is to remove the plates and reg. sticker before ya sell it.
