Even if it isn't a 60K Lexus it is still a free Eclipse, Accord, etc. There is a generation of parents out there that make a great living. These parents must resent the way they were raised by their parents. So they use their money to live vicariously through their kids. They give them that cool car they never had and the cool school life they wish they had?

It used to be a way for these kids parents to relieve some of the guilt they feel for never being around. Now it seems to have become a one up type of deal. You know...keeping up with the Joneses. It's a status symbol thing. Who can buy their kid the most expensive car? At least in Plano that is the game. Little Suzy comes home harping about how her little slut friend Jenny just got a 911 for her B-Day...well hell...we can't have that little slut thinking her parents have more money than us...LOL. I saw some kids at Lake Lewisville Saturday. They were in a new 8" lifted blinged out 35" tires on 20" wheels F250 Super Duty crew cab 4x4. Of course they had a 30 ft Baja boat in tow and 4-5 jackass teen studs looking dumber than hell rolling down the road. There is just no respect or common sense among these shits.

I've never seen anything so ridiculous in all my life. I loved my first truck. it was an f150 that i could treat like **** and it still ran. i jumped over an entire intersection with it once. kinda miss having a beater, maybe i should get another. :icon_biggrin:

I'm from the old school where a$$ beatings were top shelf.....I still live by that...CPS has screwed up kids with that mess they preach. No kid or grandkid of mine will EVER act like or talk to me like that without a smackdown put on them. I passed down 3 used Tauras & Sable to my oldest kid over past 5 years worth about $800-$2500 depending on age/condition but all worked and was only to HELP get her started in life...not support and spoil her forever. But thats just me.

Man T, I'm too old or too far outta touch. I never seen or heard of it. I watched MTV when it first came on long ago but gradually grew to old I guess it don't interest me to watch:( plus a lot of kids(to me).But I guess they don't want to see the old fart stuff from the '70's,'80's & '90s I like.
