They said the 3.3 for the Lightning is 5 months out. If this is true, it's good timing for me! :icon_mrgreen:

they have been talking about the 3.3 months from coming out way before you could even get your hands on the 2.3 whipple what 2 years ago, I won't hold my breath

I think there is the possibility that they are being optimistic. Maybe some of the hype is intentionally designed to keep a person from buying a 2.6 KB until they can get the big whipple out there. Most folks that purchase a blower right now are not going to be a potential blower customer six or eight months from now. Hell, probably not for a couple years realisticly.

they have been out for awhile now, but my posts were in reference on how the dealt with the 2.3 whipple and now with the 3.3 whipple. They release maybe 6-10 kits and then we have to wait another year and a half to get one??? I heard that someone paid upwards of 8-10,000 to have one of the first 3.3 whipples
I hope they do release the 3.3 Whipples, if so I will be in the market for one, which means my 2.6 KB would be up for sale :evil
from the looks of it my CAI might still work with this set up

I would have designed these big ones with a front intake and a shaft drive to the rear to eliminate the 180 degree turn in the intake.

According to the manuf's rear drive brings on a whole new bag of worms. The Eatons for the C5 are shaft/rear driven.

well I'm still holding my ground, but might be eating my own words, I hope so because then it will be time to upgrade :D If it holds true and are shipped in 4-6 weeks, my 2.6 KB will be up for sale
Projected cost as of now is ~3900 without cold air kit and EGR tube. :coolman:
Some preliminary numbers are forthcoming from the dyno......don't go away. :-p
Posted by the man himself at Whipple:
Ok, here's some numbers and notes, remember this is a stock truck, stock exhaust, no headers, stock throttle body, stock MAF, etc. Also using stock lower pulley.
4.0" SC pulley, 20deg's timing, 12:1 AF, 517rwhp/564rwtrq. Dyno cell is hot, 98deg F. Peak boost, 18.9 @ 5500. 14.5 @ 3000rpm.
3.75" SC pulley, 20deg timing, 12:1 AF, 558rwhp/609rwtrq. Dyno cell, 102deg F. I'm out of MAF, need to install MAFia. Peak boost, 21.1 @ 5500rpm. 16.5 @ 3000rpm.
Some notes, 4.0" pegs the meter right at 5300rpm. 3.75 pegs at approx. 4700rpm. Were running 104 octane gas to eliminate possibility of detonation. Timing is set to 20 from 4500-5500. 3000rpm has 14.
There's so much left on it right now, SC is got so much more. Forgot to mention, this is the standard pressure ratio SC, tomorrow is the HPR which is better at teh 19+psi.
Everyone keep in mind that this is with a stock 7.5" lower pulley!!!
