You are a piece of work - you bitch that you cant steal music the way you want, and then when offered a solution from a friend you take a shot at them for offering to help

I guess I shouldnt be surprised - You are the same guy that wants to put a performance shop next to his future house, 100 miles from the center of town.

If you do the search...you can even get the limwire PRO, which is about 29 bucks for free..... I have it on my laptop :icon_mrgreen:

I will try to find the links (steps) to get the limewire pro for you later if ya want.

If you are interested I could get you details on how to get all the Music you want for $8 a month + a one time puchase of $29. First, you need to join a music service like Napster....$8 a month. These services basically give you all the music you want but they have a way of making the files go bad after 30 days- that's where the $29 come into play. The $29 buys you a program that cleans all the files and makes them into permanent MP3's. I realize that even $8 a month is too much, however, the average settlement the Music companies are getting from people for piracy is around $3500, more if they can prove that you have stolen what they consider an excess # of tracks. That being said, $3500 is the equivalent of 36 years of Music service. The bottom line is that is not worth stealing music. I hate paying for what I can get for free but the consequences are too great. So Terry, it's either that or Dana's crusty old disco albums. You make the choice....

I had limewire till it kept allowing viruses  so I got rid of the PC and upgraded to an iMac and iBook, best decisions I have made in a long time

I use itunes songs are cheaper and so are videos, just downloaded another movie to watch on my iPhone

I also just pruchased an appleTV, that thing is sweet, plugs into your tv, uses its built in WiFi to access itunes and syncs movies to it, no need for dvd players and also syncs your iPod or iPhone playlists to it

I would just get iTunes instead of napster or limewire

I don't want to steal music I PAID for it, I want to be able to use it for my personal movies and enjoyment and I can't.
What the hell Doug? Is this the first sarcastic remark I have ever made here? I figured after six years of meetings and hanging out, ten tousand posts you of all people might get a sense of my humor or something..
Dana, is like the Uncle I never had I'll joke with him all I want.

As for my dreams of having a shop, living in it is the only way to make enough to pay bills. Having a business front costs 2K plus a month in wasted overhead. There are a lot of good mechanics and builders that work form home in much more remote locations. It is about 26 miles from downtown Dallas not 100.. fyi.

So I guess you have a monopoly on sarcasm ? Or just selective sarcasm..

Dozens of poeple over the years have tried to offer sound, experienced business advice - all of which you have ignored and many times you ridicule the person for offering. After a while it gets old ..

No monopoly, you aren't being sarcastic just mean. Who brought up the business deal? I haven't said anything about it in months. I got a good job with benefits and do jobs on the wekends, good enough. That is beating a dead horse. It is easy to armchair quarterback. I don't see anyone on here running a sucessful shop. It is a lot harder than it may seem and cannot be compared to other types of business. The hardest part beisdes skilled labor is having enough capital to buy in parts and stock enough inventory to sell it cheaper than LFP and RPM Outlet, how do you do that? Even SummitRacing or Jegs can't beat those two on performance parts costs. You cannot make a living on labor alone you have to make money on parts. I have been selling of my new inventory for 6 months and have LOST money on every single item from headers to shortblock kits, jammers all at a loss just to move it. Because nobody will pay for it they all want a discounted price. And if you go legit and carry Garage insurance that is 3-400 a month, utilities and rent another 1500, heck you have to do two engine jobs just to keep the lights on each month. Sorry what I do gets old and wears on you. I'll try to work on that:tu:.

Terry, I don't think that you charge enough. I swear that if I lived in Texas I wouldn't even change my own oil. Your labor rates are so low that people shouldn't mind buying parts from you even if they are a little more expensive. When I had my Lightning I would have saved a lot of money if I had just shipped it to you and had the motor/tranny/ and rear done by you. Considering that I have really good connections and pay a 1/3-1/2 of what most people do for mechanical work- that says a lot. For example, I noticed that you charge $250 to put an entire exhaust on a Vette. Is that really 2 hours of work? Labor out here around LA starts at $85 an hour and that's pretty reasonable. A dealership or foreign car specialist can sometimes double that. I don't know the Texas market but that is the feeling that I get. Maybe I'm wrong and you guys have an over abundance of cheap hack mechanics....what do I know? I'm just a Yankee.

I get asked about you every week or so it seems .... Unfortunately your current "eyes only" job makes it tough to answer any of the questions. Which makes me look like a fool. Im helping promote something that may or may not exist.

If you really think that I am and have been mean to you you need your head examined ...

hey if you have some brakes and rotors rear and front hit me up with a price the ones on my truck are still good but when they go bad i would like to go aftermarket.

L8 APEX

If you want to keep stock sizes look on ebay or Rotor Pro's .com. They sell the whole set of four new slotted or drilled rotors for 200 bucks. As for pads I would run Hawk tow/suv pads or Performance Friction from Vatozone. Good cheap fluid is Valvoline SynPower 6 bucks a quart from Vatozone. Or a better fluid is ATE Amber or Superblue from the internet usually 10 bucks a quart. Russell is offering stainless lines now. I installed a set on Wes' truck.
I can't touch RotorPro prices so I refer customers to them. EBC's are close to them and cost me 550 a set or more.

And that is why I am out of business:tu:

takes one to know one right?
My first radio in my room was an Emerson radio with record player on top. Mom's new husband was a bachelor for 34 years prior and he had an awesome record collection. I would grab a few at a time and listen to all of them. Being careful not to scratch them. It is part of what gives me my broad appreciation for music. I had Forgerty's Centerfield on a 45 and I listened to it before every little league game. I think I even lip sync'd to it for a talent show once. Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, Creedence, some Jarvis dude, Neil Diamond, Tears for Fears, Alabama, Beach Boys. My most precious record was Michael Jackson's Thriller. I bought it with my own money. Mike was wearing a white suit and had a tiger cub in the pic.

How in the heck do you get music that you can use? I usually burn everything I buy to CD, mostly because I changed PCs and none of my bought music would play on the new one because of a license isuse. Once you burn it to CD, you should be able to rip it and use it in your videos. You'll stay legal and have a good backup of your songs...
