My truck has had a pvc issue twice since I owned it (no other problems). The first time when it was running in park or very low speed I had a noise underneath that sounded like something rolling around in a coffee can (sorry for the description but that is the best way I can describe it). It ended up being pvc and waste gate solenoid. Recently, I had a loud squeeling like a belt rubbing, but only when I started it up for a few minutes and it was very inconsistent when it happened. One day it was doing it loudly and constantly so I drove up to the FORD house and a mechanic new immediately what it was. He came over and unscrewed the oil cap which release the pressure. Problem solved. I do not know if this will help, but both times I thought it was something major and it was only a pvc valve.

How did you pull the pulley off? Did you use a pulley puller designed for the Eaton or by some other means?

Terry, but I don't think he does Diablo. It might be worth it to get set up for SCT. Other guys that have been told this over the past few years didn't head this warning and ended up with blown motors.

Diablo, In my opinion after reading hundreds of thousands of Lightning related threads on various forums over the past 7 years, BLOWS

The knocking sound you might be hearing - MIGHT be detonation - a good tune will fix that - a bad tune with detonation will crater your motor ..

A can of octane booster can check detonation. I thought he was hearing this sound parked with the hood up? Have HPP do a dyno tune on it I think they are a Diablo dealer:tu:

I was making a funny. I do all I can on the side. After my ten hour work day tomorrow I will fight traffic over to Arlington from Richardson. I will pull an intercooler, do some plugs and install a blower or something like that...

Making a funny??? LOL... Your about as funny as me . I know what you mean about working a real job...well sort of.

I don't see him asking you to tune it yet, I guess maybe he is trying to save money on his tune. Maybe it will work out for this nube. It hasn't for anybody else I have watched so far. But who knows...maybe this one will get lucky :evil.

LOL...I may book mark this for future reference when the "OH SH!T" posts start getting made.

Hey nick.... Before you spend any money on something that may or may not solve your problem.... Have Terry check out your truck. Let him advise you on what you need first. This will be much cheaper than a blown engine.

And buy the way.... Welcome to Talon.

Check with Stegmire.<---- How ever you spell it? He told me a while back he was going to put a rebuild kit together, for the Heatons. He may have it together now.

Cavitation?

Does it sound like a diesel engine at idle and when you give it a little gas it goes away?
