Just wondering what tire pressure are you guys running on the street with your 555DR's? :beer:

The wheel is a little narrow for the tire so it baloons with higher pressures. You can watch the wear line on the widewall and vary pressure a little to change that.

I was reading on NLOC and there are many guys running on the street with 15Lb's of pressure :tex. They claim that you can get more mileage out of them this way :confused:.

Not to mention the unsafe handling and risk of popping off a bead. The manufaturer put the optimum pressure on the side of the tire. The harder the tire with pressure the less resistance it has against the road and the cooler it will run. Thusly the longer it will last:icon_eek:

I am on my 3rd set of 555Rs in the rear. I agree... 30-32 is too high or you will wear out the center tread way before the outside. If the wheel was wider, then it wouldn't be as big of an issue. But since I run stock width wheels, I have found 27-28psi works better than 32.

I don't think its a huge deal as far as safety goes if the center wears quicker, but it stinks come inspection time.

Nevertheless, I'm only seeing ~6500-7000 miles per pair... IOW, once a year I'm buying rear tires.

the real answer is to have your wheels widened an inch or so. They run good and flat on a 10.5 or 11.

Yeah Dennis has had a few sets done. We ordered Rob's HRE's in 10.5 rear and 9.5 front. I think the 305's sat pretty flat.

Yeah, and I I'd known I'd run the 305mm wide DRs all the time, then I would have ordered my HRE's the same way. 10.5 would be really good for the 305s
