Looked at the rules for LFEST and my helmet is expired Snell 1995, bought it in 2000, and I don't have a jacket that is now required for an aftermarket blower.
Any suggestions, I have a place but their prices are a little high, but they are close to work.
I believe in trying on Helmets and clothing, so the internet is out.
Yeah, I know go try it on, then order from Summit, JEGS, etc, but would prefer not to do that.

The best prices on that stuff is in a bike shop on 35 and Vallyview. Really small place called Bates. On the West side of 35, just north of 635.

Yeah... Thats it... I guess it's on Valwood. Not Valleyview. I did not know they had a web site.... You would never think they did if you had ever been in there.

I wonder how many guys are going to get caught off gaurd by the jacket rule? Damned near everybody and their dog has an after market blower.

I think the blower rule ONLY applies if the vehicle didnt come with one stock
Ill check w dwight
Technically the jacket rule applied to any non-stock fuel system. NO2 is non-standard. A KB blower on a Gen 2 is non-standard. The rule reads that any fuel system that was not supplied by the factory requires the user wear a jacket.
We did not enforce the rule fully last year when a Gen 2 had a KB or MP blower installed. I do not know how picky the track will be this year? We (NLOC) have a group discount for helmets, jackets, etc.:

Helmets you can get from the track if yours is outdated, but jackets you will have to borrow if you need one. BTW, this is not a LightningFest rule, it is a NHRA rule.
This is another thread on the subject:

Seriously though. The best place to buy a helmut is usually going to be local bike shops. At least that is what I discovered when I bought my last helmut.
Mark has a very good point also about trying it on before buying it. Wearing an improperely fitting helmut can actually be just as dangerous than not wearing one at all.

My helmet has expired I have NEVER had anyone look in my helmet or anyone elses - Since my truck has never made a pass fast enough to need a helmet Im not likely to upgrade

Quite frankly, I don't remember anyone ever looking close at my helmet either. That was while running high 10 to low 11 quarters. Maybe there is going to be a helmet nazi at this event:twitch:.

try this place for helmets. usually has good deals - Wilzgarage.com. and is local at Park (or Parker) in the strip mall. Used to be a Honda place there a while back.
