Not sure if it wouldnt be worth it to spend the $30 more and get the stand alone player

Did anyone do this ? I can't seem to get it to work. My total with 3 of th movies and the DVD player is $294.78 and the free shipping doesn't apply to the DVD player itself.

Am I missing something ?

The price of the three HD DVDs you choose will be deducted from your order at checkout. (Applies only to products sold by Amazon.com. Does not apply to products sold on our site by third-party merchants or through third-party areas such as Amazon.com Marketplace, Auctions, or zShops.)
Step 2: You can also get an additional five free HD DVDs from Toshiba after mail-in rebate. Download and print out the rebate form (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html/ref=amb_link_5353082_7/102-3283681-1182522?location=http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/00/00/00/68/30/85/68308597._V29586871_.pdf&token=FD5C8E0AC014164CD5C9E3BB1C3EF8AE47DB0555&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0RFWSHNAVEFZAJGAVEJX&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=304466501&pf_rd_i=1000122571) available on the detail page for the HD-A2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IJV4BC/ref=amb_link_5353082_8/102-3283681-1182522?ie=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0RFWSHNAVEFZAJGAVEJX&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=304466501&pf_rd_i=1000122571), HD-A20 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MKC34E/ref=amb_link_5353082_9/102-3283681-1182522?ie=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0RFWSHNAVEFZAJGAVEJX&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=304466501&pf_rd_i=1000122571), or HD-XA2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000M6XKEK/ref=amb_link_5353082_10/102-3283681-1182522?ie=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0RFWSHNAVEFZAJGAVEJX&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=304466501&pf_rd_i=1000122571). Why ?

dboat

Why ?

I knew this would come up..

A while back, Toshiba sold technology to the Russians that allowed them to be able to detect our nuclear subs. This cost the American taxpayer billions of dollars in new research to make the subs even quieter.. we also lost a very strong competitive advantage in the defense of the US. The outcome was that the DOD cancelled all contracts with Toshiba and the CEO of Toshiba in Japan resigned and stepped down in disgrace.

So, I have decided to not buy anything from them ever since.

Interesting, Dana.

It probably would have made bigger news if the Russians still had a sub fleet worth floating. :)

Back then, they did.. plus it allowed their destroyers to know where we were at all times.. so I wont give one RED cent to that company as long as I live..

I have that player its a really nice player haven't had any problems out of it and the picture is really sharp!! Only only thing I don't like it turning it on you have a to wait about 2 minutes before you can load a disc it has to boot up, but I do like the Ethernet option for software and firmware updates.

Heck with innane logic like that one would never buy anything foreign, German, Japanese, heck our former enemies make some of the coolest stuff out there. You gotta learn to forgive and move on:tu:

might want to try using powerdvd 6.5 if you have a non hdcp compliant pc. also, you can use slysofts anydvd to back up them up to your hard drive. you'll just need some big hdds. that player will also allow you to view them from your hard drive as well after backing them up. might have to download via a torrent to make sure you get the right version.
