I went today, got 1 white wing, 2 local regulars. This year has been off to a slow start. My highlight was crosing over a fence and holding on to a tree with a hornets nest, got stung 2 times in the neck,3 in the back of the head. Those suckers where on me so fast, hell they chased me for 20 yards.:rll:They finally got the pattern test on my 12 ga..Still nice to get out even with the bee incident, would have made a funny video.

dove hunting is normally good when there isnt any rain, it makes the birds have to fly for water, when theres alot of rain there's water every where which means they can eat and drink and never have to move:cool:

So Jimmy, you're a bowhunter? I start my first deer bowhunt in three weeks up here.. actually its my first time to hunt. I have my ladderstand up and am going over all my equipment..

How far away were you when you shot the bird?

I shot 9 this morning, but only found 4. I'm gonna' have to teach my next dog to find downed birds. The field I hunt is 110 acres of sunflowers, but it's really overgrown with weeds and Johnson grass. Unless you get really lucky it's a biatch to locate your birds.

That was abuot 25yards with my wifes bow (bowtech edge) and I have shot one at 40 yards, but I can't do it again if I had to. My bow season starts Sep. 29th cant wait.

Went again this morning and shot a limit between 7:15 AM and 8:35 AM. With the help of my GF acting as a bird dog we found every bird we downed. That's the first time I've shot a limit in one day in the past three years.
