Just purchased this to keep my temps down, we shall see if this thing really does work

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=399643

Let me know when you have available, needing some wiring done as well, and brakes

Since my login worked ... heres a picture

The Icey Res is simply an evaporator inside a coolant reservoir for the IC fluid. I goes in place of the stock washer fluid reservoir. The installation will require evacuation and recharging of the air conditioning system which should be done by authorized servicemen for legal reasons.

That truck looks like a science experiment!

yeah thats Fade 2 Black truck, he has is all kinds of crazy

would this need to be a job for Jimmy?? I know your super busy, plus with L Fest, but thought I'd check first

This is one reason I am doing this mod, this is Fade 2 Black's screen shots when he was data logging

Startup

After getting up to full operating temp on the highway allowing the IAT2 temps to peak and stabalize I turned the a/c on, represented by the red line that makes a "Z", the yellow line is the IAT2 temp itself.

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3047/cruiseacoffwq6.jpg

This is after the a/c is turned on thus activating the IR. It's easy to see the IAT2's drop and by looking at the timestamp numbers at the bottom of the graph between screenshots you can see how quickly the temps rise and fall.

AC turned back off, temps go up.

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/9440/cruiseacbackofflx2.jpg

I waited for the IAT2 to "peak" each time before turning the AC back on to repeat the results.

AC back on after peak.

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/7088/cruiseacbackonattemppeaoa1.jpg

Temps go back down.

The last 10 minutes of my drive is stop and go at low speeds. When I got to work I popped the hood and measured the actual IC fluid temps.

I got the install done plus some just for Mike. I even got to see him on Sunday, better that Jesus himself.
As for this guys data logs I don't see the miracle. None of the pics show full load high RPM, boost etc. It is all idle with 60-70 degree inlet air to begin with. Show me the WOT 3rd gear data. Where's Mark#2? We need data!!!!!!!!!

It should work in theory, this is very similar to what the Gen III L was rumored to have if it made it through the pipe dream stage.

I was thinking the same as wesman. Some data from Michaels set-up would be interesting. I have been considering this mod. I just had a few reservations about the race track aspect of it all. Running my AC to cool off the fluid in the intercooler seems a little redundant when it means I am heating up my motor in exchange.

The point I made to Terry when we were leaving Vato Zone, which he usually declines to put on the forums, is the reason for me doing this is because I drive my truck a lot on the highway and at peak temps going down the highway and me flooring it to get over, I was seeing 175-180 downstream temps.

I can honestly say I don't know how this kit will help/hurt at the track since the amount of racing is not that much. I do have a JLP supercooler in the bed to fill full of ice while at the track, so I guess I'll run my A/C to the track to get the coolant nice and cold, then put in 5 bags of ice to keep it at that temp if not colder. I also have some insulation I'm going to wrap the I/C lines from the bed since they are probably soaking some heat from the truck, and the lines around my fans, I know these lines are soaking in heat since my CAI was soaking in a lot of heat from my electric fans.

Ron, do you have any A/C insulation strips I could buy to cover the I/C Tank in??

I'm still needing to recharge my A/C system and get new front and rear tires before I start data logging, I'll probably data log some tonight with A/C off at peak temps at WOT, then if I get around to getting the A/C recharged I'll do some highway WOT logs at peak temps to see if there is that much of a difference

seems like i was following a thread over on nloc where one of them deleted or bypassed the heat exchanger with this system and was actually seeing cooler iat2 temps, reasoning being that the heat exchanger was heating the flood back up after the a/c chilled it down.

I read a similar post, I'm going to run it and test it in its current condition

then if I don't think the temps have dropped enough I will go from there, maybe the super cooler is hurting me right now and I don't have a strong enough pump to push the fluid through everything

since this tank is bigger than the stock I/C tank, maybe I should just run this tank only and get rid of the supercooler, I'm starting to feel like mark #2 and wanting sooooooo much data, this is scary to me

It is armaflex sheet asspunch. United Refrigeration and others sell it. 1.2" or 3/4" thick and I think the sheets are 36x18 or such? 20 bucks a sheets maybe I htrew away my cheat sheet.
