as I was pulling out of the garage I noticed this freakin huge spider, I then grabbed some carb/brake cleaner to kill it then smashed it good and dead

We always called them banana spiders. They were all over they place in east Texas when we were growing up.

But, it looks like we called them the wrong thing.

They are also nick named gardener spiders. They are completely harmless to humans. Their fangs are to short to even bite a human. They are good at killing insects in your yard and garden. I feed the ones around here with big ass grass hoppers :evil.

Don't kill those that's an orb or garden spider. They are great to have around your house. I have some so big they can catch and eat the huge grass hoppers we have around here.

We used to call them "writing spiders" because they weeve a zig-zag pattern into their web.

spider is a spider to me I assume they are all Black widows so they all deserve to die I know what you mean, that particular spider looks deadly but it cant do you any harm. Now you could do harm to yourself trying to get one off of you if you were to walk into a web and let one get on you :eek2:. I know this from experience. I walked into one and it got on my neck and I flipped the fark out running in circles and ran head first into a pine tree. The whole time my uncle was laughing his ass off at me because he knew it couldn't hurt me.

+1 I kill all I see but spiders we have a ton of those orb weavers at the land and can get pretty big. They supposedly will not bite unless you are handling the female with her eggs and she may or may not bite. If you do get bit it's like a bee sting.
