That must be why John was sticking the fine money in their pants...
It is hot up there this year with a high of 90 today! The trucks are starting to slow down a few tenths. Some very nice and fast turbo trucks here. All mid 10's or faster. We are going to the shoe bars tonight to scope out the local talent. Mayhem shall ensue!

Hahaa...too easy. I want him to unseat me. Perhaps that will motivate me to do something with my truck....like get a 60' under 1.7....every .1 in the 60' is good for .20 on the big end....all at once now let's do the math.

I'm looking forward to the TFC. There will be some deeeeeeeeeep 10's had there, or my motor will come out of the hood. I don't really care which, both have been a long time coming :evil:evil:evil:evil

Best of luck to Uncle Rocks. I need someone to keep me honest and actually care anymore. He's a great guy to do it....we can bet bottles of Crown XR at each event....I've got 5 bottles in reserve right now....I can use a few more :icon_razz::icon_razz::icon_razz:

Be safe up there fellas. Hope to see everyone home safe and sound soon. :bows:bows

Those last few .10ths are a mofo, noone knows it better that Uncle Rocks. I'm sure he'll hit it.

BTW- Is that a pic of Rock's truck with the cage and tonneau cover above? I'm looking into options for a cage taht will allow a cover, the pic above looks pretty slick.

Headin to get the new daily tomorrow so the L can be relegated to weight loss, a more track friendly tune and less DD duties soon.

Yeah that thang(L) got a nasty stance & look mean. I liked the 2000 Cobra R look (except that wing) since it came out. Its only $454 Mike, part #3342-B3 @ Cervini's. Guess our fog lights fit it, but if not they are $210 part # 7015-B3 and the bumper screen inserts are $25 part # 7014-B3 . but I need about 10 trucks & 30 or more Mustangs so I can mix & match the different parts I like. Just 1 car or truck I can't do it.

Gary and I rolled back together and got in about 3:45pm. We had one situation on the way back when a car two in front of me lost its front wheel at about 80mph. It skidded off into the median but the wheel traveled to the other side of the interstate. It tagged a tour bus dead center hard and blew open the cargo holds scattering luggage all over the interstate.

Just 5 miles up the road from the first accident was an Accord that was hit or rolled in the median shutting down Northbound traffic completely.

Then just before Turner Falls a Bronco II lost its front wheel and tagged the concrete wall on a bridge-two cars involved there.

Three accidents in a 20 mile stretch is just crazy.

Hey John, It was my pleasure to drive such a great truck!! I was afraid to mess with "the button" and left it in overdrive all the way. Mark took real good care of us all the way down with his radar. We left your truck at Ronnie's house and hopefully they will get the mixture of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas bugs off of it sometime today! We are heading back to Florida tomorrow. I Will send you a PM when I get home. Great meeting you!:bows

Three accidents in a 20 mile stretch is just crazy. Yeah that was pretty crazy 3 events in such a short stretch. But that first one with the wheel comming off and hitting that bus..wow!Never seen anything like that before. That wheel was traveling at probably 80mph through the median. If that would of struck a car just right that would have been ugly. Glad everyone made it back safe and sound.:tu:

I like option #2 myself.

hey Eric! Glad you found our board! I apologize for Kressler and Mark we can go anywhere without those two asshats causing trouble:D. I greatly appreciate your wife's contribution to the party. TALON usually brings quite a few hot chicks to the party but it was a DRY run this year. Your wife's cheery and friendly disposition saved the party IMO. I was even more impressed when I saw her at the track Saturday. She must be a good drinker:beer:. I took my German striping with a smile on my face, thanks!

Terry,
It was all in good drunk fun bro. No asshats. I heard them say it so I sent her over there to "paint em up" so to speak. I can only imagine what some people's pillows looked like the next morning. (DAVE) I bet the maids were like "WTF!"

The wife is a true trooper. She was the one to wake me up on Saturday and get me out of bed. I almost said screw the racing my head hurt so bad.:hammer: Most of the time she drinks me under the table.

Damn Germans!!!

You take better pictures. Not enough action shots...IMHO. I didn't find my truck...and even if I had...I probably won't be paying 10 bucks for a 5x7 of it.

Im assuming that he has more than the few pics I saw this morning

I KNOW he has a picture of your tire in the air .. We were standing side by side - I told him you would likely lift the tire we both shot it and then checked to see if we got it - he said he did - He was impressed that I could predict who was likley to launch hard - I found that amusing

Thanks for the compliment

I hope to post my pics soon

I looked at the pic again and I don't know if it is my truck. The resolution of the sample pics he posted is so low, it is hard to tell. I thought the number on the window was 139...now I don't know. It looks like the guy driving has a white helmet...mine is black.

Mark is running mid to upper 12 A/F on a stock block :eek2::icon_eek:

I was at LFEST, 14 psi boost/14 degrees, 116 leaded gas.
Low boost, low timing, high octane, it takes all three to survive at that A/F IMHO.

I run a different plug than most, but can't give away all my secrets.;)

I still think it is the 3.55 gears that helps keep it together and run well.
2nd to 3rd shift is where my truck has always been strong and I don't turn a lot of RPMs at the big end.

I started watching my AF gage after you mentioned your AF earlier in the weekend. I noticed mine would just hit 12,1 at teh top end of each gear and it stayed there once it got into third. I started to say something to you about leaning yours out but with you not running straight 116 I was afraid you would detonate the heads off that block. I would be afraid to run that lean with a mixture of fuel. I'm no tuner...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express.

My best 60' on Friday was 1.765 with a 11.960 @ 117.29... on the M&H radials. Saturday I went to the Hoosier slicks and my best was 1.723 with a 12.035 @ 113.37 and hitting the rev limiter at the 2-3 shift.

Best was 1.662 on the 12.28 at 109 run, Typical was 1.7x on the slicks.

Both of your 60 foot times are embarrassing :d. I would look into a good torque converter...or something. But the point of my question was to see if maybe the difference was in the 60's. Guess not:tex.

I think PI makes a pretty good converter. You are assuming that I am leaving at a pretty high RPM level which I'm not. When you consider my best run was 3/10th better than Mark's with 8mph on the top end, that is pretty good since we were pullied the same and he was running considerably leaner. Also, when you consider that I was usually 2/10th slower in previous years with my stock block (God rest it's soul), using Mark's truck as a measuring stick; that's a jump of a half second in the quarter with my current set up that is not even close to be tuned correctly.

I was a just a little ticked at LFest trying to bracket race and still changing tunes between every run, but hey, that is the way things were. Those folks that were hanging around the TALON pits on Saturday afternoon probably had a hard time picking up on my displeasure since I am always able conceal my feelings so well. :evil
