Why did it take Prestone +75 years to make pre-diluted 50/50 antifreeze?

It sure is convenient, I don't have to go the the grocery store and purchase DI water to dilute anymore.

It only came out lately because of the increased use of aluminum in radiators and heater cores. The proper water to add to pure anti-freeze is De-mineralized because the minerals act as an abrasive and basically sandblast thru the aluminum over time. the pre mixed anti-freeze is de-mineralized. Most people assumed that if it was good to drink it was good to put in their cooling system. So they had problems going thru multiple heater cores and they blamed the anti-freeze maker or the heater core maker. When in fact it was the water they added. So premixed eliminates that. :cool:

I always use DI as tap water has Fluorine in it, ie HF acid.
