Drive shaft

My lightning is a 99 and they came with the steel driveshaft. Are the latter alluminum diveshats interchangable with the 99? Has anyone done the math on the difference if reciprocating weight, or does anyone know the weights of the two different shafts so I can figure the difference?

There may be some searchable data on F150online or NLOC. I assume it is a 10-15 lb difference. The alum is 5" diameter. They are supposed to absorb shock and handle high speed better. They are about 800 bucks from the dealer and hard to find used.
