I ran all over working on trucks this week from Lewisville to Tyler to Alvarado. I slowed down to 70mph cruising and tried to stop smoking the competition. Even standing in Central Expwy traffic for an hour I averaged 17.5mpg:beer:. I ran 723 miles on a tank with a 5 gallon reserve. Me so proud! It was still a 133 dollar fill up though at 3.23 a gallon. It came down 4 cents from last week which saves me a whopping 2 bucks if that.

Better than my Harley, I get about 14/16 if I take it easy on $3.19 93 octane gas. Definitely don't see those fill up intervals with my lil 22 gallon tank though.

I've been hitting 300 - 310 miles on a tank in to L, lately.

Will hit 100K miles in a week or two.

Damn Terry pretty good mileage. My Dodge has never seen above 16.1 mpg, maybe a box would help that?? OR would it make it worse. Hummmmm.

On stock tires or the BIG??

I put the stock 17/31's back on two weeks ago due to fuel costs. The 20/34's were averaging 13/14 and the 17's average 16/17. I tried not driving like an asshat and that helped. If I drove the way I really wanted to I would be getting 13mpg:evil. When I get a job I'll start driving like an asshat again:tu:

Yep, I find if I open my cutout... I drive like a "asshat". Since I put the BHAF on, I also notice I drive it harder to really hear it whistle!! Def great mods, hope to get a box as soon as I figure out which of the MANY :icon_eek: I want!! So many choices, options, and opinions... Makes my tiny brain hurt!! I can't figure it out!!

Bio Diesel would be my alternative if I owned a Diesel. On last weeks 'Trucks' they were turning 55gals of grease into 250 gallons of Diesel for a reasonable price.

I'm sure it takes some time to offset the cost of the 'homebrew still' (3k) but it didn't look that complicated.

Bio Diesel is not reasonable for the average guy. They had a brew kit at the Pate swap meet. It was about 4,500 bucks for all the parts. It would only make 50 gal a week I think.
The other two draw backs are the process puts off a toxic by product you have to dispose of which is hard to in a legal way.
the other is getting the oil and grease to begin with. Everyone has seen the value of bio diesel so most is already spoken for or restaurants are charing for it. If I had an old 12 valve Cummins I would consider it. But the late model diesels are too finicky to burn sludge or crap in them. A 6L diesel engine costs fifteen thousand dollars. I am not going to jeopardize it to save a few bucks.

Welp... I added a box and this is what I got runnin 85-90 on the way there and 80 on the way home (it was dark!!). Round trip was about 260 miles. Not too bad IMO.
