They were built as military vehicles. Rumor back then was that they could still travel over 100mph with flat tires on desert sand...

Over 100mph thats one hell of a ride wonder how much it cost.

Thats exactly what I saw when I saw that pic....MILITARY..... I'm thinking reworked copycat of the HUMVEE.
