View Full Version : Driverside Mirror Problem and need bolt

I went to pull my truck in the garage and I folded the mirrors in and this happend. (Bottom arrow)

Then I tried to remove the mirror only to change my mind and one of the bolts broke off. Anyone have an extra bolt lying around (top arrow), and also know how to fix the mirror?

Ford doesn't make the bolt anymore and I can't find one anywhere. I guess the next step is the junkyard.

I had the same thing happen to mine last week. I was sitting in a left turn lane with about 15 cars. Some asshat was tanked and side swipped about four us with his camper mirror on a raggedy F250. I couldn't move or get a decent description or plate. He didn't stop:mad:

I have yet to fix mine but is still operational. I will put in on the list of one of those things to take care of when I have time.

I'll let you know what I find and will you please do the same?

I will add most local Ace hardwares have a fine assortment of specialty hardware. The one on Little road in Arlington carries all kind of allen heads.

If you can get the specs on it I can see what I can do. We have a division of our company that is 'fasteners' of all types.

I tried ACE already, they didn't have a torx or allen that fit the bill, the heads on them were the wrong shape.

I might just have to go to the junk yard. If i find them I will try and snag a few more and send it your way!

Steve I thought your posted the thread on G1 replacement mirrors a few years back. On here or NLOC? If I remember they were not power though.

Not me or at least I don't remember. I did have a set of those pimp 'california custom' side mirrors and a 5 panel WINK mirror in my mini-truck in High School:ron:
