23 months in prison. Think he will ever play again? He will be 31 when he gets out. He will most likely have to switch to reciever or kick returner if he does come back.

Is that federal time or state time? If it's state time he'll be out in about 6 months if not sooner....

I am sure the real issue would be whether Roger Goodell is going to let him back in or not. If so then I bet a team somewhere would pick him up.

It's federal time. He still has to face charges from the state in April.

Quartebacks can play until they are 40! Vick is and has always been mediocre passer, but very fast and a good runner!
He will definately have someone sign him and give the old "he has served his time line".
If your team needs a quarterback in 2 to 3 years I bet teams will be ready to take a shot on Vick.

Sh!t, I bet if the cowboys didn't have Romo, Jerry would already be working some deal on the inside to get him. He likes the trouble makers for some reason. :icon_eek:

Zeus you know you speak the truth!! :icon_mrgreen:

If we did not have Romo, Jerry would sign Osama Bin Laden if he could help us win another Super bowl:icon_exclaim:

It is mandatory that 80% of Fed time be served. CNN reported he would have to do a minimum of 18 months.

If he has to do a minimum of 18 months, does that include the timed already served or will it be less?

If he has to do a minimum of 18 months, does that include the timed already served or will it be less? Beats me. This is what one of CNN's lawyers said this morning. And don't forget, he is still facing state charges as well.

I think Vick will play again. The team that does get him will be a desperate club. He will probably play for a year or so. He is no longer franchise material, or maybe a back up QB if that. But with his criminal record he better take the back up Job.

Whether he plays again is twofold..

while he is in, will he work out and try to stay in some form of playing shape, this is from lifting weights to running and sprinting..

the other is whether a team will take the chance on him from a publicity standpoint.. by the time that things have cooled off, his physical skills may have deteriorated enough such that he wouldnt be a competitive player in the NFL any longer.

Pro sports care less about their players ethics every day. As long as performance comes first it won't get any better. I guess we obviously can't build teams based on morals and ethics. Athletic ability is king and look what we end up with a bunch of millionaire thugs.

I am not so sure about this anymore.. I do think that the organizations are being made to be accountable.. but I do think that pro athletes are given way too much lattitude.

Two Texas A&M players suspended after arrests

Two Texas A&M football players have been suspended from the team after their arrests Wednesday in connection with an alleged armed robbery that occurred at an off-campus apartment complex Nov. 29.
Yemi Babalola, a starting offensive lineman from Bryan, Texas, was charged with aggravated robbery and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. Aggravated robbery is a first-degree felony and is punishable from five to 99 years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine.
Brandon Joiner, a defensive end from Killeen, Texas, was charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. Joiner also was charged with possession of one to four ounces of the drug known as "Ecstasy" and possession of less than 28 grams of hydrocodone.
"When Coach [Gary] Darnell called last night to inform me of the charges, he and I agreed that these young men need to be suspended from the football team," Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said in a statement. "They will remain suspended until cleared of any wrongdoing."
According to a College Station police report, officers responded to an armed robbery call at the Callaway Villas Apartments. A resident said two black men entered the apartment and struck the person who opened the door.
A second resident ran upstairs and escaped through a window. The first resident and a friend were bound with tape while one of the assailants pointed a semi-automatic handgun in their faces.
Several small items were taken, and the intruders fled on foot. One resident reported minor bruises to his face, the report said.

Yemi Babalola (left) started six games this season on the Texas A&M offensive line.

College Station police executed a search warrant of Babalola's residence Wednesday and discovered the drugs. A second warrant was executed at Joiner's residence and drugs were found.
Sgt. Brandy Norris said more charges could be filed, and the case will be turned over the Brazos County district attorney today.
A&M spokesman Alan Cannon said the athletic department was aware of the situation and was collecting information.
"From the information that we have at this time, it is obvious that this is a very serious situation," Cannon said in a statement released early Thursday morning. "The Texas A&M athletics department will cooperate completely with any investigation into this matter to gather all accurate information."
It's unclear if new coach Mike Sherman or interim coach Gary Darnell, who is coaching A&M in the Alamo Bowl, will decide on any punishments.
Babalola, a 6-4, 315-pound junior, started six games this season. Joiner, a 6-3, 224-pound freshman, redshirted this season.
