I had dinner with a Clear CHannel Exec last night She told me that the eagle had JUST started broadcasting that day

IF Russ was part of the deal she would have mentioned it
Ill believe it when I see it - NO mention of it on Russ's site either

I just heard about Russ going to the Eagle on yesterdays show. Supposedly, he's suppose to start at the Eagle January 2008. I also just found out TODAY that 97.1 The Eagle had came back. So, I put the two together and came up with that conclusion but I don't know, it may be another "The Eagle". For sure that's what they said yesterday on the air.

The old Eagle was #1 preset on all my radios, but so far I'm not liking the new music lineup yet.

The old Eagle did not have to compete with other stations...certainly not 93.3 because it was completely different type of music back then. Now the new Eagle 97.1, 100.3, 92.5, and 93.3 all pretty much play the same thing with slight variations. Give me a break, lets get some variety clearchannel...

I started listening to 97.1 when it became KEGL on the air in the 70's. Never listened to any thing but the Eagle and the ZOO. I even remember the first contest they had. It was a new station promoting, more music and less commercials, the contest was to listen for there first commercial and mail in the time you heard it. It was @ 10.15 PM and 15 seconds. The winner got 10k. I was so bummed when it changed.

I listened to it all day yesterday. It just ain't the same.:tex

My boss has the ZOO denim patch hanging on his wall at work. And the S.O.B. won't sell it to me!

Yeah I remember. We had a place in the sticks on a hill we listened to the Zoo (real tail gate party's). It was the only place we could pick up the station. We called it Zoo hill.

Anyone remember Z-ROCK, too? We could get Z-ROCK and 97.1 on a fairly clear signal even in OK.

I suppose his show fits in better in a talk format at 105.3 versus the mostly rock-music format at 97.1. Just keep him afternoon.

I still have a few of those Zoo stickers in mint condition. They made a comeback as an internet radio station a few years ago (itsthezoo.com) but died on the vine. I'm guessing due to funding.

Corporations have ruined broadcast radio year ago. The boom in Satellite radio is proof. I have had Sirius sat radio since 01. I bought a lifetime membership and love it. Clear Channel and their cohorts have over sold commercial spots to the point it sickens me. They censor their employees and change formats/personalities on a whim. They have betrayed me so I hold my sword to them!:icon_eek:
