I swore I would never have mud flaps on a vehicle when I was a younger man. Those were always an identifier of an old man's truck. Well as of today I am one of those guys. I wish I did it the day I bought the truck when the paint was new. After 80K miles of travel my rocker panels and rear bumper are heavily pitted and missing some paint. Road debris and off road rocks and gravel roads have taken thier toll. My next new vehicle will get them from day one. I also installed these in anticipation of traveling up north where winter road tratments can really damage your paint and body. These are Husky liners and are very nice. They even include 3M cleartastic film to place between the flaps and the body panels.

the mud flaps were the second sign that you're getting old. the first was the step-up bars. :icon_mrgreen:

Lame, Bushwacker fender flares, not mud flaps.

OLD MAN FLAPS!! Any wider angle level w/ the truck side views Terry??

I think fender flares suck w/ stock wheels/tires combo or the same offset as stock. If the tires stick out a few inches I think flares are ok. I've been debating on what to do w/ mine... I have a set of pocket style bushwackers in the garage, but have stock offset wheels w/ 35 BFG KM2s. Guess I need to quit slacking and get some wheels, so I can put on the flares... I dont want chips and scratches all over the body.

I liked the stock fender flares on the 88-98 chevy trucks my tahoe had them. The squared fenders looked good. The round Ford fenders look like crap with stock flares. I wish I got them when new as I have significant rock chip damage. I doubt they will ever have mud on them I call them stone guards more or less. My buddy put them on his new 07 Silverado in the first week so his rocker panels and panels will be like new for years to come. When I wax my truck I have a ton is white specs I have to live with or dig out down where the debris strikes...

I used to dislike mud flaps, but after having them on the Tundra I've become a convert. They work, and it's amazing how much road spray and gunk they keep off, not to mention the rock chips. Gettin' older sometimes means getting wiser.
