Go_rila's Old Hood will be going on Go_dzila! I am trying to get Go_rilas good genes into Go_dzila any way I can. I got some Pontiac Grand Prix GTP louvers at ebay and started this project and I think it is going to turn out nice, it will be functional, and will be different. The stock hood is nice and light and I wanted to keep it but still have a way to exhaust hot air under the hood. I mounted the louvers as far back as possible to allow for the maximum scavaging effect. I am fabricating aluminum drainage cans under the hood to keep water from the electronics . There will be about a 1 inch space at the top of the cans to allow for scavaging and heat dissipation. I am loading all the install pictures in my album here at Talon but have not put them in order yet. Here is a picture of Go_rilas Hood with the louvers set in the top and secured.

I will be fabrication the drainage cans when I return from Texas over the holidays.
This will give you an idea of what the finished product will look like.

That's SWEET !!!
:tu:

Hummm, in the second pic ..... what does it look like if you take the one on the left, put it on the right and the one on the right, put it on the left ... then line up the back of the louvers with the rear edge of the hood?

Just wondering ........ :D

I tried it that way and it just didn't appeal to me. It is a good idea and can be done that way though. I even tried them side ways and also reversed them so that they were scoops instead of vents. I can't move the louvers back much further because of the design underneath the hood. The rear part of the hood is almost 2 inches thick and tapers very rapidly to the firewall and the drain cans would carry that 2 inches back so far that the hood would not close. It is going to be a close fit the way they are.

I bet it will look really nice when every thing is painted. Very subtle (pronounced sub-tul).

Oh Man!! :eek2:
I see your point. Those boxes underneath will have to conform to a wide range of dips and valleys .......

Will look nice after it's finished though :D
