They have tightened the rules yet again. No spaces allowed this time around and maybe down to 5-6 characters.
Someone already has my my plate for Lazarus.

It did on my last renewal in June.

They now will not allow numbers only. You have to have at least one letter :(

Yeah, their new thing is that you can now pay the fee through the tax office instead of a separate payment. They think that will get more people to buy 'em.

When will they realize that they need to go to 7 letters? You can make 4 times as many messages than 6...

That and when are they going to figure out that if you could check their DB for availability you may be more likely to get a custom plate????

No spaces? Sheesh. I already had to take off the better looking plates (where the alphanumeric characters were stamped, instead of the new stuff that is "printed"), and now they want to get rid of spaces.

WA2FST doesn't look as good as WA 2 FST.

If they go down to 5 characters, I won't bother anymore.

+1 I kept the old 'stamped' plates on when I got Rob's truck even though he gave me the newer 'labeled' ones. The new ones look like ass

According to that link, the plates you had on the Gen1 are available. Guess it doesn't do any good though with no spaces in it.

ETA - LZRUS and/or L4ZRUS are available too

These are the 36, right?
A-Z (26)
1-9 (9) because zero and o are the same on a plate
Texas Silhouette (1)

If you forget about the silhouette then I think that these are the number of possibilities:

5 digits - 52,521,875
6 digits - 1,890,787,500
7 digits - 66,177,562,500

Of course that includes all the regularly issued plates and does not account for the prohibited plates nor for reserved numbers (for govt vehicles).

Although they now do not allow all number plates, I was lucky enough to be grandfathered in.
