If you use the ford motorsport crane cams 1.7 rockers, no need for tall valve covers. Those are about $200 in the Summit catalog but can be found on the corral forums or NLOC between $100-$150 depending on how much use they've had. Here's a set that's currently on NLOC

If you do go with tall valve covers, you will need a 1" spacer.

Have you or are you planning on a roller conversion? If you haven't already, I have an HO cam you can use.

I have thought about changing it to hyd. roller, what cam do you have? This thing is totally stock except for the K&N filter.

It's a cam out of a 91 GT mustang with 60k miles. A lot of guys on the NLOC have seen great results with these cams. If I'm not mistaken, there was someone who ran 11s with that cam. I was going to use it but got a custom cam instead to fit my future plans. You can have it if you want it...I still haven't done my conversion because I still need to buy all the gaskets that will need to be replaced, water pump, timing chain and roller rockers. I'm also going to replace the valve springs while it's apart....I'm sure it'll do some good since the stock ones are at 190k miles:icon_mrgreen:

Okay, I thought that's where it was... I wasn't sure...I look at River Oaks as a neighborhood and not it's own little town...ha...ha.. I have some family that stay out that way... Just let me know when and where..

What color gen1 do you have? I'm asking because I see this red one all the time at a nursery home or rehab center(not sure what it is) off long and angle by meacham airport.

Ha...ha... what a coincidence.... I've had mine parked for a little over a year and every time I passed by it, I'd tell my buddies, "There's my Lightning"

Looks very nice....

I'll give you a call...
