xbox 360 users

I came home lastnight and fired up my 360 to find a red ring around the power button. I called 360 support and they said that it was an internal hardware failure and needed to be sent in to be fixed. They said even though it was out of warranty that the repair, and shipping both ways would be paid for. So if anyone runs into this they will fix it for free.:tu:

I ran into this shipped it back they said they couldn't fix it and sent me a whole new xbox+ a free month of Xbox live, this one worked for about 3 weeks and got the red ring again sent it back they sent me a new one and it has been good. Only bad thing is it takes so long. One of my friends is on like his 4th xbox for these same reason.

yeah i can see where the waiting sux but Im just thankful that there owning up to it and doing it all for free, seems that there customer service is spot on:tu:

Yea they'd have alot of pissed off people if they didn't because playing online I think just about everyone i've played with has had this happen to them atleast once if not more. I don't know if you could sue for something like that if they didn't own up but they would deffently have a bunch of people pissed.

It also happened to both of my brothers, one of them twice. They shipped it back and got a new one.

They announced a big extension of all the warranties ONLY for that issue

Yes Sir I know I just didn't know if it was viable for only a $400 dollar unit I thought ppl only did that like in big medical things that had to do with thier lives.

When there are enough folks with $400 units that are experiencing the same issue, then, yes it can happen.. does it happen often? probably not, but since most of the users of Xbox's are computer literate and maybe even belong to some Xbox user forum.. what do you think the chances are that one of them is a lawyer and would jump on this issue in a heartbeat? not that the lawyer would do it for money:rolleyes:

Is this the same as the "Disk cannot be read" error after random amounts of gameplay. I dont get the red ring of death, but I can barely ever play online because I will get this error.

Any ideas?

That one I got serveral times right before my first red ring. I would be playing for about 30-45 mins and shut it off and then come back in about 20 mins and fire it up and get that message. I'd just reboot the box and it came up fine. Then it happened once and boom red ring so you might be close to your first one.:evil
