I picked up a new toy this weekend and had a question. I bought a Glock model #32. It chambered in .357 caliber. It's a cool little compact pistol. I think it will be a good size for the little woman. My quesion for those in the know is this. A .357 revolver is capable of firing a .38 round. Is the Glock capable of the same thing?

No the glock is chambered for .357 Sig. A revolver is chambered for a .357 Mag which is the same size as a .38 (case wise) so you can shoot both of them out of a revolver. The .357 sig is a whole other beast. Great round alot of police have switched to that round.

As stated above, the 357 Sig is all by itself. What you CAN do is get a 40 S&W barrel for a Glock 23 and, using the same mags you already have, shoot 40 cal ammo in your gun. 40SW is significantly cheaper to shoot than 357 Sig.
You can get a factory glock barrel for about $120 or an aftermarket one for about $100.

Haha, I about fell outta my chair:rll:. I guess you bought it because it said 357... I had one of the first 32's. It kicks and barks like a magnum. The lady will probably be scared of it. I recommend 9mm for 90% of defense pistol users. Should have gotten a G19 a LOT cheaper to shoot and more accurate through less recoil, higher capacity etc..

Glad I could make you smile Terry. That was at the top of my list of things to do today. Just asking a simple question. She won't be affraid of it. She shoots the .45 just fine. Another pistol you seem to have a high opinion of.

The .357 Mag., .38 Special and your .357 Sig are all very different pistol cartridges, John.
Your Glock is chambered in .357 Sig and the caliber is the ONLY thing is shares in common with the .357 Mag and .38 Spl. Your Glock can only digest .357 Sig rounds - not .357 Mag/.38 Spl.
Have fun with the new Glock.
